MISB Optimus 1990s Chinese Release... but with "(C) Hasbro" blacked out?!!

    It has the black boxes around the toy pictures on the front, which at first made me think it's the Chinese version. But look at the copyright/manufacturing text on the back of the box. "(C) Hasbro" is blacked out and the manufacturing text appears to be left as-is! Weird. And then the same guy has an Astrotrain where ALL of the copyright/manufacturing text is erased:

    If I had to guess, I'd say these are either:
    1) The earliest of the 1989 Chinese toys, before they started altering the copyright/manufacturing text the normal way (keeping "(C) Hasbro" and getting rid of the Takara part and the manufacturing country)
    2) A later run of the 1990s Chinese toys made without permission from Hasbro.

    And the seller claims his uncle bought them in Japan in 1985, which doesn't fit with either theory above, so I'm not inclined to believe it.

    So was that springer a normal U.S. box as far as you can tell? If so, damn !! i missed it

    $600 misb springer? now that's a fairy tale, considering CAPTharlock's last one went for like $1600 a couple months ago
