Look, everyone, this is REAL simple...

As far as the MOVIES go, the Autobot who transformed into the Ferrari is the character Dino. There are also supplemental materials which show the character named Mirage, and give him the power of invisibility. Both of these are FACT, and cannot be disputed.

THAT BEING SAID...

As far as the FILMS THEMSELVES go, there is NO MIRAGE. Therefore, unless Transformers 4 explicitly shows Dino as having been renamed Mirage, Dino is the name of character IN THE FILM SERIES. And as such, Mirage can be introduced as a separate character if the filmmakers choose to do so. The supplemental material is NOT movie canon. The only thing that is movie canon is what you see in the theater or on the home video.

The whole point of this thread was asking about Transformers 4 - THE FILM.

 

no even on michael bays website the red ferrari was officially named dino , that should be enough proof , espeacially bc it came from mb himself

 

if he went under the name mirage in the tie in media and toys then that makes him Dino/Mirage, EVEN HASBRO Considers him as an incarnation of Mirage.

 

Don't bother. Eagc is just going to go on about Hasbro identifying him as Mirage.

Like I said, I'd like our blue and white Mirage, as I'd like my White, green, and red Wheeljack.

 

I'm talking with Hasbro support right now.

We'll get a definitive answer. I'll even post screenshots to prove it when this kind lady is finished looking into it for me.

This proves it. Hasbro considers the red Ferrari, officially, Dino!

 

Considering people are still arguing over Dion or Mirage, I call him Sideswipe cause he's red and the official sideswipe will be known as Blaze IMO.

 

remember they are all MOVIE Related, so there is no problem in talking of the Movie related media here

and still remember i said even if hasbro said that i'll still consider him mirage as thats what the tie in media establish (canon or not, doesnt mattr, he's still Mirage even if the tie in media are not canon, Just liek G1 Jetfire is SKyfire in one contintuy but jetfire in others, but they are still considered the same guy despite diff names)

'Related to' isn't the same thing as 'is'.

 

Still Mirage. just cuase Hasbro and possibly Bay considers Dino as its official name, Doesnt means Mirage is a nickname or his cybertronian name. Only way for me to consider him Dino is if IDW retcons Rising Storm for their TF4 Comics or if they rename him for ALL of the already released dotm tie in media

If the canon is different, then so are the characters.
Even OPTIMUS- if the canon is different, then theyaren'tthe same Optimus despite having the same name.

but i did not made the Mirage page, the TFWiki people simply goes with whatever name they go with the toys, if such name is used for TONS of Stories they will go wit hthe name that was used the most. but if one name was onyl USED ONCE for the same character they will go with the name that was used the most (so since dino was only used once, they dont consider it an official name, but only Mirage as it was used the most)

but i am adding the Finding on tfwiki for see if they will rename the page or not, still, Dino or Mirage he's BOTH! if tie in media and toys uses a certain different name for the same character shown in a movie or show then that makes the 2 names as official CANON OR NOT

 

If the canons are different, then it is physically impossible for it to be Mirage.

 

The Mirage seen in the Diff continuty is meant to be the same guy from the Movie, Thus He is still MIRAGE!
