Another example of a figure that I find has weird proportions, Payload has the alt-mode, the hulking body, and detailing that befits a much larger character... instead he's kind of the shrimp of the Movie Deluxe figures.

However, something about the figure suggested a different scale... a giant among Scout class figures, or maybe something in the Robotmasters or Titanium size category.

I like Payload's camera head... I actually really do. However, I wanted to try putting a different head on him to make him into a new character. While I was at it, I swapped out his "Mickey Mouse" gloves for some 1/144 Gundam polycap fists. I find the smaller head really makes him seem more like a hulking brute (at least for smaller scale TF toys :)  )

Don't make me want to buy the movie toys! Really, I don't! Please!

Really, I'd buy that without hesitation. That really looks like how it should've been...Or how I wanted the movie toys to be...

Nice job! You should be awarded for being resourceful! Probably the best and simply kitbash I've seen for 2008. More power to you.

Okay, paint that sucker as a military paint scheme and you'd have a good figure for a movie Brawn or Bulkhead! SCHWEET!

True... not with a capital "E" at least. But then, he doesn't look very nice either. :)

He has that sort of ambiguous robot face quality that a lot of G1 TFs had.

I'm still not sure what to call him or what faction to give him. And I still want to come up with a way to get that damn chest-ram thing off his back. The pictures do a good job of hiding it, but it still looks funny sticking out of his back like a handle on a puppet. :(

Unscrew his. . . waist was it? Remove the bar. Glue the matrix-looking bit to his chest. Split the grill and glue it to his feet. Toss the bar. o.o Oh, and fill in the new gap in his back. =/

I actually don't mind the bar on mine. His chest gimmick actually works exceptionally well. its not like pliars (dropkick), but a genuine catch-claw, the range of motion impressed me.

    Huh, that's really nice.

I've avoided even opening this thing until I could figure out what to do with it, this gives me an idea though...

I know what you mean... I considered using the fix that Kouri mentioned, but I couldn't bring myself to do it because his gimmick worked so well... and normally I hate gimmicks!

I LOVE that claw... or ram, or laser cannon. It's very versatile. :)

I'm wondering if there's a way to cut the back end, and add a hinge so it can lie a bit flatter on his back, but still fold out to be used... but it may ruin the springs and mechanisms inside.

Thanks everyone for the enthusiasm. Cool! :)
