I like them, but they have to fit the style of the line in order to be good in retrospect. Namely, the DOTM Mini-cons. If i felt the need to order them from BBTS, they would become my classics Dinobots.... and a saber-tooth tiger?
reviving this thread a little bit 'cause I dug out my Energon Perceptor tonight and figured out his transformation. Never realized his ankles extended before! Which is your favorite minicon? Seems like theres a lot of chopster love out there, but who else?
armada ramjet, armada grinder, cybertron jolt, reverb and six-speed and universe bodyblock are a few of my favorites
Mini-cons? Mini-cons. This is my collection of rare Japanese and/or favorites. I have the full run of US Mini-cons and a lot more of (nearly all) the Pre-Arms Micron figures.
the armada ones mostly suck ass to me. the dinky robot modes really get to me. the PCC and AM ones are fucking great though, i need more.
I like many of the minicons. Either DOTM, armada ramjet or armada grinder. The only thing is that they all are messed up with my other collections. Just can't manage for the other shelf, but this is something pretty good looking- I think that's something he has got
Let's get this straight. Who is a Mini-Con: Everyone with a 5mm port. Who's not a Mini-Con: Pinpointer, who only has a post. This makes him a beautiful, beautiful Targetmaster. With a post that can be positioned to do very naughty things with other Mini-Cons. seriously that post is extremely phallic
The Saber combiner teams are my favorite of the bunch, for the combined mode (particularly the Energon Saber remold). As for individual minicons? Prime Jida, Classics Firebot and Cybertron Deepdive. I think you posted those in another thread around here somewhere, but I still love seeing all of those anytime. I'm jealous of your Wedge Shape and Torque Gain, amongst some others that I don't have yet.
...they all have dinky robot modes... As for me, if the "Micron" does not have a port to activate an Armada-era toy's feature, it's just a small Transformer. Mini-cons have that activation potential that sets them apart.
I dislike the concept of minicons (transformers version of Pokemon, gimme a break) BUT I like re-purposing the figures as wst fillers. The figures, for the size, are pretty damn great.
In the source Japanese fiction, they don't really provide a power boost so much as force an evolution of the Transformer they bond to. Read the Linkage comic (there's translations floating out there), it's actually quite good.
