sweet...i need a brawn and windcharger, this'll be a much cheaper way to get them...
The Cliffjumper keyring I got a while back fell off.
Then again, I treat my keys like crap...
cool!! cheap minibots
Any idea what each of these will cost, ballpark? And are they exact replicas of the original toys?
I remember picking mine up from KB for something like $5, so I don't think they'll be anymore expensive than that.
I hope these show up in Canada.
meh, i know i'm screwed cause this guys won't EVER reach south america at their original price, i'm prepared to pay a little more than people in the US to get those guys again because their price will be less than what an 80's one costs down here.
Cool. I never did get Brawn and Windcharger.
Do those Magic Washcloths prevent BO? (Also known as BotCon Odor.) 'Cause if so, I think I just found something to hand out when I'm bouncing around the dealer room next year.
Curious about the non-minibot keychains. Will they be durable? Or will they be more crap you need to treat with kid-gloves. Anything like the Minibots should not be keychain material. Who treats keys well?
quick question: how easy (or not) is to take out the metal ring from the minibots without breaking any small parts of them?
obviously i don't care at all about having them as keychains.
Dang, the headline had me thinking there would be new G1 minibot keychains.
I still have the original keyrings. I am surprised people here missed out on them.
It's pretty easy. The part of the keychain that is attached to the Minibots has a hinged piece that lets you take the figure off.
There's a pic here.
i was worried that the metal ring itself could be locked with the little plastic ring on the shoulder of the minibot directly, what a relief.
If they're the same as the ones that came out a few years ago, then they are pretty darn close.... but they're not EXACT replicas. The differences that I noticed in my keychains were:
1. Windcharger's faceplate wasn't painted (nothin' a silver Sharpie can't fix)
2. Cliffjumper's mold seem degraded.... the little sculpted details on his hood are not as distinct, and seem "mushy"
3. The tires on BB and CJ don't say "Dunlop" on them like some of the originals (BUT they're still rubber, which is nice)
4. Finally, of course, they each have a little molded loop to attach the chain. That can be clipped off pretty easily if you don't like it.
There might be other differences that I didn't notice (I'm actually almost sure there are).
Overall, though, they're definitely similar enough to the originals to stand in for them.
Me personally, I hope they release chase black figures again. But I have a feeling they won't.
The black versions were only available in Japan.
Excellent! Bumblebee and Cliffjumper got released here in NZ so hopefully with this next batch so will Brawn and Cliffjumper, more Minibots for me!
I had a Bumblebee on my keychain/wallet and he was pretty durable, since he was attatched to my wallet he went to school with me everyday, made for great distractions from learning. I remeber one day I had an exam, I finished early so i just started to play around with him, then everyone around me kept wanting to play with him as well, he was the class whore for a that day.
