A bunch of us got together today and hung out, so I thought I'd start a thread for everyone to share stories, photos, and comments on everything.

I just got home, so I figured I'd let you guys have first whack.

Okay okay...since I was the one that started this today, here's how it happened:

Kenucme had a figure that he found that superquad7 wanted, and since SQ7 lives close to me, we thought, meet for lunch, etc.

    Cool huh?

Well, of course we were trying to find a good midway point. So the place we chose just happened to be the stomping grounds for ShadowDragon and Mushroom Prime, and they were available.

So it wasn't quite an official meetup, more like a meeting of the minds. But still, we all found something we were looking for.

For those who weren't there, we weren't excluding you out, it's just how it all came up, impromptu and at the very last minute. There's still going to be a meet-up per the other thread started by SQ7 for next month, posted here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...-carolina-tfw2005-meetup-janurary-2009-a.html

In the photo, from left to right: Dormamu, Kenucme (with Universe Cheetor loving daughter), ShadowDragon (don't ask him where he got the hoodie from, it was a very cool gift), Mushroom Prime (with Mom in tow), and Superquad7.

We're all looking forward to a more official meetup you NC folks.

    These photos are fantastic guys!

I have to say that the first Walmart and the "Attack of the Universe Case" is just etched in my memory. That's just too funny!

I'm still in awe that we were able to find so many cool things today! Each of us hit paydirt. ROCK! :rock

Also, I was so pleasantly surprised with the gifts of WW Grimlock and the two Action Masters from Kenucme. I don't collect the Titanium toys, but I really wanted this one. Viagra Prime had made his scratchbuild of WW Grimlock a few years back. When this Titanium came out, I figured this is as close as I'd come to his custom. Also, the Action Masters are very inspiring for my Alternators customs, as I like to often take very obscure characters and update 'em. Again, major props to Kenucme; thank you so much, man!

It's always great to just hang out, goof off, and share all things Transformers. :)

First off, I really am surprised how well this meeting turned out. It was really an impromptu thing, but nearly had all of our travelers from the previous gathering (we missed you Kevinus Prime, get well soon). Still, we do have planning out there for a gathering in February so stay tuned.

Like superquad7 pointed out, it was the mad case opening that really highlighted our TF hunt! Dormammu quickly spotted a case on a cart that was probably ready to be put on the shelf. He grabbed a case of Universe voyagers, where I spotted a case of Universe deluxe figures. I have to admit I was more timid than Dormammu where he took the case straight to the shelf and I just peeked inside mine. I reported my find to the others as I saw that there Hound figures in the box.

Well, DUH! It didn't even don on me that there were Cyclonus figures (which I was looking for) in that batch (Same wave, Ken!). After the rest of the crew got more curious, we opened up the case fully, distributed to those who wanted, and left the rest on the shelf. Overall, a successful hunt for me as Cyclonus was the only one I wanted.

Major props to Dormammu for bringing his latest buys in to show all of us. Handling a Cyclonus and seeing how awesome it was solidified how badly I wanted one. Cheetor turned out to be really impressive also. So much that my daughter took a real liking to him. I took notice that he had both green and red eyes on the beast head, plus the mouth opening gimmick. I'll be looking to add him to my collection soon, and get an extra for my daughter who adores it so much.

It was a wonderful time to get out there with fellow fans. I probably enjoyed sharing my extras with you guys as much as you did getting them. I look forward to our next meeting, and future gatherings around NC to meet other TF fans.

This was one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed, and that's a pretty bold statement as I've witnessed many . . . well, things in my life :lol

Dormamu and I were talking on the way, and my plan was to give you the spare Cyclonus I had at least in trade. I'm glad that I was able to help MushroomPrime at least from having to stand in the Walmart return line, especially since I really only needed the Nightstick for customs. :)

That's well said, my friend. :thumb
