Do you count them as seperate Transformers or accessories? I count them and others like Headmasters and Targetmasters as seperate Transformers.

When counting my collection, I count them separately.

Yes, I do count them as separate bots/cons from their larger brethren/partners. Though I'm still not sure if I'll be counting Prime Soundwave's deployer/minicon as separate. Seems more like a remote controlled chest-piece than it does a separate bot. If the packaging calls it Laserbeak, I might, but a mention of it being more than just an extension of Soundwave himself in-show would certainly help.

    Cassettes - Individual bots
    Minicons/Targetmasters - More like accessories

Things that come in the same box/card count as one toy - unless they are a gift set.

    So :
    Missfire+Aimless = 1

As to something like Ravage or Laserbeak that people might end up with duplicates of I just count the 1st one anything after that is just a duplicate unless it's remoulded or repainted.

I might be tempted to count each version of Soundwave as 1 as most of them are slightly different almost every time they release him something is changed in the mould.

Minicon 3 packs count as 1 (not 3)
an Armada toy and it's minicon count as 1.

Basically I look on it like this if you were selling it and leaving that part out would make it incomplete then that part is part of the 1 whole toy - if that is not the case then it counts as 2 not 1 (example Movie Bumblebee Vs Soundwave is 2)

Cyclonus/Nightstick/Rodimus/Galvatron is 3 not 4. each one would be plus one and not a duplicate as each is repainted.

It is hard to count though if I bought a Ice cream twin packed in robot mode I'd count that as 1 and the vehicle mode as another 1 but if they were opened and I didn't have the card they'd be 1 and a duplicate I didn't count and despites that they are 2 characters I'd only count them as 1 anyway.

It is a bit confusing I suppose but in general I try not to count exact or near exact duplicates as part of my collection count (not that I have an exact count lately).

I count Mini-Cons as not only seperate Transformers, but a whole seperate collection within themselves. Aside from having the main cast of Armada I don't collect the large partner figures my precious Mini-Cons are packaged with, I just want the sweet sweet Mini-Con. Any toy that has it's own bot mode and name is it's own character and not merely an accessory. Such as Armada Jolt.. while small he is a Transformer not like say, RTS Jazz's speakers which would more traditionally be called an accessory or weapon.

If it has a personality, it counts as a separate Transformer.

    agreed.
Buzzsaw and Laserbeak are counted as separates
    just like Rumble and Frenzy.

But, in my Word Document that lists all my figures, i do list Headmasters/Targetmasters as one figure, but i include the name of the smaller figure.
    "Cyclonus with Nightstick," for example.
i still count each separately, though.

Depends on how they were sold. Armada toys which had Minicon sidekicks I consider as Targetmasters or Headmasters. Three packs I consider as three individuals.

Cassettes I count as individuals since the majority were stand alone releases.

Count them how you like, just be consistent otherwise you'll never be able to keep track.

    I do, too.
If I had PCC drones I probably wouldn't count them separately, but that's about it.
