:lol  Total bulljive. Nothing pre-TF has a rubsign. They came out in what, 85?

Either a KO or a second-year Soundwave from MB. Don't know much about the weird MB releases, though.

The TF line didn't start in mainland Europe until 1985. Having bought MB somewhere around that time, Hasbro used the MB logo rather than the Hasbro one for TFs released in mainland Europe. Perhaps because at the time MB were better established in Europe than Hasbro.

IIRC, from 86 onwards all European TFs carried the Hasbro logo. I know nothing about stampings on European releases - it's the one thing that's stopping me from saying 'It's PROBABLY real, inspite of the sellers lack of knowledge about the connection between MB and Hasbro.'

    Yup.

I've never seen a MB Soundwave before, but have heard about him.

It is from China. It is a legit item but was released in the early 90s in Hong Kong. They came with small tags with chinese lettering on them but they were very easily removed.

These were very common at one time. Worth about $300 to $350, not what they are asking.

As others have said, it's sort of legit and a remarkable find MISB, but the auction description is somewhat misleading (it clearly isn't a "pre-Transformer" for one) and the asking price is ridiculous. MB branded toys were simply the early G1 toys packaged in multi-lingual packaging in Europe. They also had the Diaclone styrofoam inserts, which you can clearly see in the pictures.

And let's not even get started on the ridiculous claim that MB branded Transformers sell for $5000 USD. NOTHING sells for that much.

I didn't know about Chinese TFs with an MB logo on them - only seen them with a Hasbro logo.

Yeah, it legit alright but I'm amazed at 2 things:

Its still in fairly decent shape and the price they're asking for...especially with Soundwave being reissued soon.

Its not from China, China issues have small circular and square stickers with Chinese writing on them, the MB versions are from somewhere else. I have a MB Wheeljack and the foam insert has extra slots in it...for what, I dont know.

The extra slots in the foam were for Diaclone parts that didn't come with TF releases. Rather than remolding the styro or using blisters MB just used the original diaclone foam parts in the packaging. Since TF's didn't come with drivers etc, there is extra room.

And as far as I know the Chinese releases were all in US Hasbro boxes.

I thought the MB boxes were from Europe.

The chinese stickers are removable without any notice to the figure.

I had one of these about a year ago. I removed the stickers myself. I ended up selling it tho.
