I am likely in the minority here, but there is 1 thing that I like in the movieverse- how human weapons can hurt a Cybertronian.

Plus, I like the role of the Military in the films. If this was real life, the military would DEFINATELY be involved... and there would be R&D to make their weapons more effective to better damage the invading robots from outer space.

The battle at the end of ROTF got it right: the military hurting and killing the Decepticons, and the military getting hurt and killed by the Decepticons.

It's more believable- and credible- that way!

I strongly recommend you run. Now. Before the inevitable flames appear.

I like how SOME of our weapons can hurt them, like at the end of TF1 they were only using high-heat sabre rounds. But for some reason, they went back to regular rifles in ROTF and still winning. I do like the military's involvement in ROTF, but I don't like how the regular bullets were actually working. The hhsr, tanks, jets and other really hard hitting stuff I can appreciate, though.

With you on all of this. Heck, in ROTF I still got the feeling that the Decepticons were winning the desert battle despite the military and Autobots throwing EVERYTHING they had at them (until Prime woke up that is).

I liked the whole NEST concept and the idea that the military and the Autobots are working together in hunting down and fighting the Decepticons. Hope to see a lot more of them in TF3!

Well to be fair we never saw the transformers getting thrown around by the bullets. From face value it seems the weapons barely did anything and the offensive only scaled up against the cons when the heavy weaponry arrived like the tanks and the heavy machine gun.

I like that the millitary is involved and can do SOMETHING. There are way to many action/superhero/sci-fi films where the authorites(police, military) can't do jack s#*t. I think the millitary involvement in TF 1 was just right. Where they played more of a supporting role to the autobots and only took down one decepticon(Blackout).

However, I think they were too overpowered in ROTF. They ended up killing most of the decepticons including devestator. I felt they truly stole the thunder from the autobots. Its like the roles reversed. The autobots were the support of the millitary. I like the millitary presence, but I just thought it was over done in ROTF. I hope in TF 3 they go back to the formula in TF 1 where its Autobots v. Decepticons with the millitary giving the autobots a helping hand.

I agree it stole some thunder, but it's highly probable the military DOES have weapons like the railgun that took out devastator, just not in MP stages yet.
Could they have handled the scene differently? Most definitely. But the fight fire with fire approach is as cool as the david and goliath approach.

I'll tell you what annoys me...............

    TRANSFORMERS MOVIE 1 : First 10 minutes.
Blackout destroys EVERYTHING at an American airbase. Great! Tossing tanks, destroying roofs, killing humans, loved it.

TRANSFORMERS MOVIE 1 through to ROTF
Decepticons were all pussies and died from human weapons! Rubbish!

I want to see the Decepticons DESTROY the US Army once and for all and only the Autobots are able to save humanity.............but unfortunately Michael Bay directs!

Well its about time someone whooped the US Armys arse!

But Politics aside..............dont you want to see the Transformers are serious killing machines or do you just want a family friendly film where humans will once again save the day?

I'd rather see death and destruction and jaw-dropping violence, in order for Prime and the boys to shine and win the battle or good vs evil.

In the first ten minutes of the first movie, the military wasn't even aware that these things existed. In the second movie, not only did they know, but they had an entire outlet dedicated to annihilating them.

I rather see the military kill off the decepticons than the human weapons having no effect.

Having the military capable of taking down nearly every Con in sight leaves one wondering what role the Autobots have. Were it up to me, I would only have the military capable of taking down 'lesser' or 'minion' Cons like Skorponok and Ravage, and make the regular to major Decepticons vulnerable solely to Autobot weaponry.
