Seriously, I doubt any sexual situations in a current animated Transformers series.. there may be sexual innuendo by the bots from time to time...i.e. Bulkhead's comment to Prime about Fowler..."pretty big bearings for a human"..and of course Rattrap circa BW era, but that would be it, IMHO.

 

I guess you could think of it this way, At least you didn't buy a pair of hamsters & have any kids get an unexpected exhibition in hamster love, live & in motion

problem 1: TRANSFORMERS DON'T REPRODUCE THAT WAY, infact, I'm not even sure they physically can imitate the way humans do it
problem 2: the closest thing to sex hasbro will ever do in there history as a company for kids toys would be a male looking transformer kiss a female looking (oh yeah, they have no gender, so another reason way they can't have sex)
problem 3: even if you solve both problems 1 and 2 you still have the problem of transformers look too much like humans, when 2 leopards mate, it just look like they are just snuggling, when 2 transformers mate (if they even can mind you) it looks too much like porn. so unless it changes transformers prime from all ages to XXX and airs it a 2:00 am, not a chance in a 30 million years

If kids don't learn of the dangers involved in life as soon as they can understand, how can they grow and become prepared for the future? kids that don't know about sex can hit puberty, quickly become parents, or committing suicide because they aren't ready to raise the baby and have no other options, merely because they only got "tab a into slot b is fun and grown up" from somewhere their lives.

Cabbages and birds are lies, while most are tolerant of lying to youths, I for one think educating individuals to their maximum is safer than sealing off anyone different for fear of change.

then again, transformers fans are very opposed to change, so, this is unlikely to be useful or appreciated.

 

As off-topic as this is, my views on teaching sex to kids. I think that's a bit unneccesary for them to show humping hamsters in a kindergartner's coloring book. Wait until the end of elementary or middle school to talk to the kiddies about sex, when their brains are developed enough to understand it. You don't want some 6 year old running his mouth saying something like, "I humped the waterfountain" when he gets in to drink from the water fountain, right?

Back on topic, there'll probably be some innuendo and jokes that'll fly over younger kids' heads, but that's it. It's pretty darn clear that Transformers don't reproduce sexually like us anyway. But that's a whole 'nother can a worms.

I don't see what's all the hubbub about showing animals having sex to kids. I remember watching Survival documentary series on TV as a kid, and almost everyone had some animals in copulation.

I guess it's hard for most parents to say to their kids that all living things do this when the time comes, and also most parents think that putting food on a table is enough of parenting, having conversations with kids and telling them what's right or wrong is tiresome, they can't deal with it.

Reminds me of the hubbub concerning violent video games, cartoon series and movies. Kids will become aggresive criminals if they watch those or listen to a certain type of music. Well, pooh to you with knobs on. I watched Conan, Predator, Terminator, Rambo movies when I was 7 as well as most of the kids I knew in elementary. I can count on my fingers kids that were bullies or ended up being criminals and/or in jail. It all comes down to guidance kids get from their parents. Bad parents will never admit they were lousy, they always blame someone or something else for what happened to their kids.

EDIT: read the original post again, I agree, having animals mate in kindergarten books is unecessary, but is it so cringe worthy? I still think the main problem is that adults have a huge problem when they have to give a meaningful and appropriate answer on questions kids can make on such a topic. I think "Kindergarten Cop" illustrated this very well.

 

The fact of the matter is that there will always be 6 year olds running their mouths, saying those EXACT things because they think it's funny and saucy, regardless of whether they really understand it. Nobody loves a dirty joke as much as an elementary school kid, even if they don't really get it.

But rather than make any discussion of basic biology taboo, I think instead we should NORMALIZE it, and remove some of the embarrassment attached. Remember that Kindergarten kids are capable of absorbing (and do so) all sorts of complex information at an incredible rate. I would think that we'd want to lay a firm foundation of the RIGHT attitudes and knowledge, before their minds get inevitably polluted by the circus of influences around them.

Well, I didn't mean specifically in Prime. I mean, in every other continuity, they've said something like the AllSpark, protoforms, this 'n' that. I personally doubt that Transformers reproduce like us, and it's not likely that Hasbro will explicitly show Arcee having a kid or something. I don't know, it's just a can of worms.

 

I'm actually hoping for that. Maybe not show the conception, but I want them to stop having them "regenerate" as if they were living metal-like beings, but still be 'robots'. I simply believe them to be a different type of animal.

 

This happened in G1 and no one complained.
