Just wondering if my timeline is screwed up or if this was very silent nod to the fandom.

If you go to TFsource the iconic girl with the purple hair basically looks like miko. Not sure if she was drawn from the premiere of the show modeled after someone who works there but I thought I remember her always being on the TFsource site.

If thats the case is Miko really an homage to how much we like to go out and buy Transformers like crazy.

If this has been noticed discussed or otherwise debated already I apologize just had to bring it up as it makes me like miko a little more.

She is basically a crazy collector homage. Especially since all she wants is to see more TF's no matter good or bad.

I thought of the same thing too when I first saw the TFsource girl.I guess both she and Miko have a lot in common when it comes to loving shapeshifting fighting robots it seems.

Interesting, nice catch, wonder if IT was intentional???

Based on the hate threads you gotta wonder why they'd choose Miko or her likeness??

"The hate force is strong for this young one called Miko... Obi Wan, better send extra Jedi to ward off the Storm Haters"

From the responses they've given at various panels and cons, it seems like they genuinely didn't expect people to hate Miko. I for one, love her.

I don't HATE the character, I just wish they would show a little more maturity in her actions..she's 15 and should be more mature than boys of the same age, and typically have a little more common sense. :)

Ugh, this Miko hate pisses me off.

Yes, she's 15, but she's been introduced to a race of giant transforming robots, and not just robots. Robots with feelings. Her life before them was excrutiatingly boring it seems.

At least she has a sense of adventure. Jack was all to eager to leave the Autobots in the first episodes, but Miko wanted to stay with them. She was looking forward to an adventure, to having fun with her new intergalactic buddies. Come on now, I've always wanted an alien as a best friend!

Does she need to think things out before she goes? Yes, but the last time was in episode 18 (TMI doesn't count because she was trying to help).

Anyway, how many people here would voluntarily avoid giant transforming robots, be you Autobot fan or Decepticon fan? Not too many, I'd imagine, and those of you who would......well, why are you even here?

I like Miko - she's irresponsible and flighty, so what?

I loved it in Rock Bottom after she disappeared into the cave and Arcee and Bulkhead acted surprised. "Have you met her?"

I never really have understood all this Miko hate personally. To be honest, she seems like the kind of character that would go through the most development in the second season.

I don't hate her. I hate how Ratchet leaves the ground bridge active long enough for her to use it. Confirm the Autobots are where they need to be, THEN SHUT IT OFF.

Miko lacks maturity and a sense of responsibility that is grating at times. Her decisions seem to put others at risk and belittle those around her.

I think maybe it's the fact that she throws common sense completly out the window when it comes to being involved in adventures with the Autobots.I don't despise her myself but I seriously wish she will finally learn that being in a real war is never a game and listen to people when she needs to.They did say she will have tremendous character development in season 2 so I guess if Bulkhead does die that might be the ticket for her maturity growth.

That's exactly what I'm worried about. I for one, hope Miko never learns that lesson.

Miko is there to remind the audience that hanging out with giant robots is really fucking cool. She's the one who provides the wonderment and light heartedness that the show needs to prevent it from becoming overbearingly grim.

TFP is dark enough as it is. Someone needs to keep it at least a little bit flighty, as a cartoon about warring space toys should be.
