DOTM Megatron - Custom Voyager Class

here we have Mid-Scan Megatron(non-transforming of coarse). this is my take on Megatron in an inbetween stage, a little mix of Post ROTF and Pre DOTM if you will...

    Mods done to figure...
-8-9 layer paint job(depending on the area)
    -completely new legs(both)
-new right arm including articulated hand
    -new articulated left hand
-entire torso was redone to fill all the empty gaps the figure had
    -damage to head/face
-damage and weathering to actual figure
    -added chains
    -added sculpted cloak

figures used to make this guy....
    ROTF Voyager Megatron
    ROTF LC Megatron
    ROTF Legends Megatron
    ROTF LC Optimus Prime
    ROTF LC Jetfire
    Voyager Long Haul
    Voyager Ironhide
    Dlx Scorpinoc
    Dlx Bonecrusher
    HFTD Dlx Bumblebee

...yes, parts from all these guys all into this little figure lol. seems crazy i know, but it worked :)

so i basically started with the ROTF Voyager Megs, removed the legs from the hips down, the backpack, entire right arm minus shoulder, and the left hand. the torso is very empty so lots of different panels went into creating the new torso. then the arms were redone, both now fully articulated. both hands open and close as well as spin around. the legs were tricky but came out well enough i think. the head was cut and stabbed and heated and eveything else imaginable to get the damage lol. then i added 3D rust effects over the entire body. after all the construction multiple layers of silvers, coppers, more silvers, gold, tan and rust effects were added, then it was cleared. i recently just added the chains and a removable, molded cloak to the figure which i think really completes it now!

it will be going up for sale shortly, so hopefully it makes it to a nice new home in time for the holidays. it is very sturdy and can be posed in a multitude of positions.

i know the pics arent the best, im still working out a few things trying to get the right lighting and focusing on the figure, but i think these work well enough for right now to get the general idea of the figure.

thanks and for looking and enjoy!

:jawdropper:  Wait, could this be? A transformer were I don't care about transformation?!?!?

P.S. You should have a blue scan line.

P.S.S. Did you use the none rotating wheel from Bonecrusher???? (I guess not, but still.)

    P.S.S.S. That's 3 P's and 15 S's.

I like it, feels like Megatron started scanning a truck but didn't have enough energon to finish the job.

This proves that you can do a leader DOTM Megatron, but didn't want to settle for a job that was done before. I love it. Original and Very pro :)

thanks for all the great comments everyone!! this was a really fun figure to build. i had started working on a normal LC DOTM Megs, but there have been so many that jumped up so fast that i figured i would put that on hold for now and try something different. i had an extra Voyager Megs laying around so i figured id give this guy a shot. im happy with the way it turned out :)

i actually had some scan lines in there, a suggestion a buddy made to me, but when i put them in there, it looked a little off, but it could have been my placement of them lol. it was a pain in the ass going over them all tho ill tell you that much LOL. i added a thumbnail of what the back looked like with the scan lines when i had them on there

as for the wheels, they are from bonecrusher, 1 is the none rotating wheel, the other 3 wheels used are his normal wheels.

so maybe since enough people are liking this concept, ill swap a few things on the DOTM LC i started and ill try making one of these in LC form!

What a great concept. It's kinda like a Frankenstein's monster of the TF world. With a little bit of forced perspective outdoor photography work this would totally pass as a real metal statue somewhere. I hope you can cobble together another one from all the toys you sacrificed for this one.

    Nice work.

thanks Earl! and ur Scourge is sweet! i bet you get a good amount of $ for that guy!!

thanks!! and unfortunately, i couldnt build another one of these right now even if i wanted to, well not with what parts i currently have lol. i would have to buy a few things to make another one. i got lucky and just happen to have all the right pieces laying around to make this guy.

if anyone is interested in getting one, let me know, im up for the challenge :)
