they should do so anyways, but thats great of them actually doing it now...even the refund if you already did it.
I have a launch console that's still going. If it does turd out on me, I hope it's before they stop fixing them at no cost.
Wonder if they're actually doing this because they want to. Sony was forced to fix alot of the older PS2's because some people sued them.
^The X-box division is probably just trying to change its image by taking the hit now to be more attractive.
My guess is it's a preemptive strike. With the PS3 and Wii on the near horizon, and no price drop, they need the good PR, and getting sued for faulty machines aint' good PR.
FUCK, mine broke about a month ago, I called, they wanted 140 to fix it, and I said fuck that. I wonder if there's any chance they'll still fix old ones for free...
if yours was before JAN 1, 2006...then YES, they will. They will also refund those who did pay. Dont know when this will end though.
