Totally agree, it's like the didn't think at all about what to call them. Though I wish the name had something more technical than just "MicroMasters" too. Give them a real faction name, not a subgroup name.

I always wondered, if Minicons were these super-powerful enhancements for the larger Transformers, why didn't they ever fulfill that roll in Energon and Cybertron? Could you imagine a Transfomer with an Energon Star or Cyber Key AND a Minicon?

Anyone looking for more Micromaster bases/playsets should look into old Micro Machines. The scale is deliberately identical, as Hasbro knew kids had jumped on the Micro Machine fad at the tail end of G1 and saw an opportunity to ride some coattails. :D

His name is dark skorponok (cybertron) and can indeed wield a key, a star, and a minicon or two at the same time. It's a awesome toy even if you have the energon version.

technically minicons fulfilled a major role for cybertron what with vector primes band of mincons making their journey to gigantian. Jolt alone was tortured by sideways, channeled primus, and opened mini warp gates in every other episode.

But what I really think will do a micromaster revival justice is for hasbro to find the rights to some old micromaster names and use them for more repaints like allspark power big daddy.

Mini-cons are my Micromasters, just engineered better and with more playability (via the ports).

I had fun with the original Micromasters line, but I don't feel the need to revisit it as a line or subline any more than I'd want to go back to Actionmasters.

A handful of reissues, however would be cool. If they were remolded to have Minicon ports, even if it was a little clumsy, that'd be AWESOME.

No thanks, please no minies. I never liked Micromasters - just their bases and such.
    Nothing smaller than legends sized.

Yes, today's minicons are yesterdays Micromasters, but I would still like to see minicons with Micromaster characteristics. I liked the ones that had a trailer that transformed into a vehicle for the Micromaster, and the ones that were two bots and one vehicle mode. If they dedicated a line to minicons like that I'd be all over it. ;)

Can't add much more to what has been said... just getting my post count up ;)

Minicons = Modern Micromasters in my book. Though I wish Armada gave them more of a personality, rather than making them the ******ed love children of Rosie and Mack from the Jetsons.

I too wish they'd make a "new" version of Micromasters.

They were cheap like minibots, and minicons proved that they can have pretty decent articulation too. But rather than the role they played in Armada, I'd like to see transforming bases without robot modes like we had back in the what, '89? '90? Or they could still have some kinda robot mode a lá Battlestars.

I wanna build a city out of micromaster bases. :D

I just think that way they could have a new subline of new and reused molds. heck, have a deluxe size pack, they could use a new mold as prime, and 4 repaints as other autobots. Heck, ad in some black and Sparkplug is a perfect Bumblebee. at the 10 price point, they could re-issue the micromaster combiners from the universe line as Devestator, Superion, Defensor, and. uh. something else. Heck, they could probably find a way to release the seekers as 2 molds in 2 threepacks. And it wouldn't have to be a new line even. Just the basic price point of Universe/Classics, with a few sets in the higher pricepoint.

They already WERE called Devastator, Superion and Defensor.

The train gestalt was called Rail Racer, but Raiden is a cooler name IMO...

I know (I have Defensor and Superion), but I just mean to release them all in one package. and I forgot Rail Racer's name. They could also do some recolors of the defensor set as Menasaur.

I still think the Minicon concept is stupid (TFs with RC toys attached all over them). Micromasters were awesome, though. Specially if you had Metroplex and some of the Micro bases.

I agree. That's the only reason I don't like Minicons. Little space ships and race cars stuck on Unicron...looks lame. Now if they had a weapon mode that actually looked like a weapon, that would be badass. As far as I'm concerned, Micromasters are a thousand times better and cooler than Minicons.
