    Are they worth getting?

Admittedly, I want at least one of the Train gestalts, but I'm not willing to spend more than $200 tracking down all the parts.

The Micromaster Devs would be so Rail Racer would have an opponent.

yeah, they're both pretty cool, and stand taller than I thought. You should be able to pick them up for reasonable prices as complete sets.

    Okay.

I will say that the Sixtrains and Raiden show more creativity with vehicle choices than Rail Racer does.

    I have Devastator and I think he's great. :)
Haven't had the chance to pick up the others yet, but I can confirm Devs is totally worth getting.
He's taller then a deluxe, almost voyager height.

EDIT: As for the price. Don't spend over a $100. I got my Devastator complete set for $60.

The train ones are awesome, I love how the combiner bits make into weapon cars and weapons for train mode. Much better than the "space ship" mode the other micromaster combiner kibbles form.

Devastator is one of my favorite micromaster sets. I haven't messed with the other but it seems to be a great set when checking it out.

I purchased all five of the reissue Micromaster sets from HighPrime recently and they're pretty awesome; the construction vehicle one (Sixbuilder/Devs) is my favorite of the bunch and it makes me interested in buying the Universe redeco. The train combiner isn't quite as sexy as the others, in my eyes, but it's still cool in its own right and worth a purchase.

    Neato.

So how do the Jet and Car combiners rack up to the Train one and the Construction/Mining one?

The jet (Sixwing), land vehicle (Sixturbo), and construction (Sixbuilder) combiners are the same in the sense that their kibble (2 feet, 2 fists, upper legs, torso, and head) form some sort of space craft/jet. The train combiners' (Sixtrain and Sixliner) kibble attach to individual bots as some sort of weapons.

In terms of individual bots, I like Sixbuilder the best overall. Sixwing's mircomasters' alt modes are also cool. All of them are great, though. Get them ALL! I can't believe I sold an extra Sixbuilder for just 20 USD, foolish me, haha

I have Micromaster Defensor and Devastator and can't recommend them enough. As someone pointed out, they're taller than expected (in between deluxe and voyager). They're complete bricks, though. So don't expect any of them to be striking dynamic poses or anything.
