Thanks for this wonderful and enjoyable article! That was great! While I'm glad Hasbro chose the mold they did, since the design evolved into what we know and love as Megatron, he really looks like the weakest of the 3. I'll give him some points for having self contained fists. I suppose he was chosen because he had enough parts to sold as the leader at a higher price point. Or he just looks more evil. Still, I wish I had the chance to enjoy the other toys in the U.S. I'm a huge TF nerd and I don't think I ever even knew that the reason Megatron's stock folded up like that was to seat a Microman. I knew about Perceptor's "tank" mode and whatever else, but this was a cool new bit of info for me. And I'll agree that I'd love to see that sweet Gun-Robo collection in bot mode!
Missing in robot mode: -Browning's fists -Magnum 44's head & fists Stick 'em up! If anyone knows of other realistic gunrobos, I'd love to know of them, and add them to my collection. Gun Majin is crazy awesome, packed with play value, and sculpting details (including the bullets). In gun mode, it: -fires bullets -has a spring loaded magazine that holds eight bullets, and slides into the handle -has a cocking mechanism that pulls a bullet from the magazine and pops it out the side, simulating a shell falling out as you fire. Robot mode's weak because of all the features of the gun mode, but sculpting details just surprise you and make you smile.
As a kid, I had a transforming robot that turned into an Uzi water gun. Wish I could find something about it online but it was pretty obscure even 20 years ago.
