I don't know lets take humans for this examples since it's something we know.

Take a top notch army from the 1800's and have them fight it out with a top notch modern army. Yea muskets can still kill modern people and a lucky shot with a smooth bore cannon could take out a lightly armored vehicle but the modern army would wipe out the army of the 1800's.

Now think of how much we'd have to advance to reach the other stars. Any human technology that advanced should have a serious edge over whatever we have today. Plus the advantages that should come from being a robot over soft flesh and blood humans.
