i looked an didn't find anything in the search engine

There's been a lot of Transformers talk over the weekend with Bernie Mac describing his used car salesman role and Lorenzi DiBonaventura explaining the film's still incomplete visual effects shots. But one piece of information that seemed unique was its running time.

    Transformers Running Time
With three months to go, the picture surely is not yet locked. But DiBonaventura leaned a way that may sound counterintuitive to the big blockbusters that want as many showings as possible per day.

"I think it'll be longer than people expect because it's very entertaining," said the producer.
Most people probably expect somewhere between 90 minutes and two hours, with the two hours on an extreme end of the spectrum. But imagine that Michael Bay has not made a movie under two hours since the original Bad Boys and this makes more sense.

Transformers opens on July 4th, 2007.

For the trailers, stills, posters and additional movie info, go to the Transformers Movie Page.

    Stay tuned for updates.

I have no idea what to do with this.

No source provided, and not only was there nothing informative, it sounds speculative at best.

I'll move it to the Movie forum so people can discuss it if they want.

I'm hoping for a two hour+ movie myself, because if the bots are only in 50% of the film a two hour+ movie would give them more screen time then a 90 minute movie. Plus most summer blockbusters are on the longer side anyway.

Well, i would be happy, if the movie gets a lenght like a part of Lord of the Rings, so about 2,5-3hours, that would give it more time for those 5 Storylines i heard about, which joins in the end.

Anyways, I'll be going into this movie, and my brothers Birthday-Present were two credit notes for a good theatre, which i will keep for good until a week before it opens in there!

We don't want it to drag on like the Return of the King. Those constant fade-outs at the end pissed me off.

Considering how people are so excited talking about action, effects and explosions, I might go back to hate this movie if it's shorter than 2.5 hours.
    :p

My prediction: 2 hour, 15 minutes. Just long enough, yet not too long to majorly effect the box office.

This is one of the few times I hope they double dip on the DvD release and have an extended cut, collector's edition, megaton delux DvD set. Package it with a nifty lil statuette bookend and ya got a great holiday present buy.

but if you've read the novel, then those fadeouts were completely expected. I for one was pissed off that the whole scouring the shire chapter was omitted, you would've finally seen the hobbits whoop some serious ass.
