No matter what he says many will doubt his sincerity (I know I certainly do!) and there will be protests at each and every NFL game he plays for the rest of his career IF a team is desperate enough to accept the PR nightmare they will face should they sign him. The reinstatement is just fine, it's probably in the agreement with the players union that he's "done his time" according to a jury of his peers and should be allowed into the NFL...but the jury of public opinion is very slow to forget.

That is punishment, making him play for the Lions. And how is it stupid to defend someone? What this guy did, to animals, may be sick and the what not but it was still only done to an animal. Hey, I understand that you love your dog, cat, turtle, bird, ant colony, etc... and would never do such a thing to them. I wouldn't either but in the end of it all, he served more time for crimes against an ANIMAL than other NFL stars have for MURDER of a HUMAN. What is stupid is how people throw little tantrums about a guy who grossly maltreated some animals but not a whisper about those who have killed humans. As for others being unfairly kept from meaningful employment, that is a violation of the law and just because some companies do it doesn't mean that it is acceptable. Chuck

You people should be ashamed, condemming dog-fighting! Sure, its animal cruelty, highly illegal, and inhumane, but nobody has addressed the benefits of it! It might not be for food, or to control the species or any of that hippy stuff, but it if it wasn't for dog-fighting what would scumbags have to gamble on?! Some of you are so insensitive! Sure, they could just as easily bet on sports, or card games, or millions of other things aren't totally inhumane, but how can they satisfy and nurture their sadistic side if its not watching tortured animals maim eachother??! I was telling a friend who is a Philly fan that this could be the best thing to ever happen to the Eagles.........FANS. They just need to continue raising a stink about it and suddenly everybody around the league will respect them and support them. I'm thinking it will do wonders for the stereotypical Eagles Fan's image as most fans around the league despise Eagles fans the most.
Wow! I am just stunned by the news. I wasn't expecting Vick to come here. The only thing I can think of is Vick will be utilized in the back field to confuse defensive lines. This sounds very experimental by the Eagles. I guess that's why he has a one year option on his deal. Still, this is going to be a media nightmare for the team. Hopefully, it'll die down before regular season.

Glad to see someone picked him up. I think if the Eagles use him properly this could be their best pick up of the off season but not sure what kind of football shape Vick is in. As far as McNabb being mad, I actually think he'll play better with having to look over his shoulder now that there is a decent QB next in line behind him.
I have Aspergers and going on a murderous rampage of dogs is such shit all aspergers does is make you social akward not "hey lets kill dogs!" as an eagles fan I am shocked and appaled with him being on the team hes an asshole.
