Doubt it, it looks simple at first glance, but if you look closer it has waaaay to many distinctive shapes to just be a generic bot (and some of the details match the Bumblebee prop we saw, like the finny shoulders).

I believe you are wrong for 2 reasons....

1. It IS likely they used the "Bumblebee" prop, but mostly because I think it may have been the ONLY prop available at the time of shooting......


2. Which leads to the point that they said none of the teaser shots are actually going to be in the movie, so they can use the BB prop, blur it out and never have to explain "who" the bot was for it to even matter.

So in conclusion, it was just a generic bot most likely, but quite possibly it was filmed with the only prop on hand (that may or may not have even been completely built at the time)....

 

Why are you all so convinced it was a prop?

The bot reeked of all-CGI to me. It was just a CGI nobody.

my guess is they had an old first draft CGI model, they just silhouetted it out, turn it into a short little animation and call it good


besides, i highly doubt bumblebee would be the only one with that style ofa bot mode

 

The footage in the trailer is SOOOO fake looking. I am very disappointed in how mars looks. Mars' skies are pinkish orange, not blue. AND THERE ARE NO CLOUDS ON MARS. I am an aerospace engineering student. I know this stuff. Plus rubber wheels would not survive in space.

Generic bot is probably what it is, but I think the outline reminds me of Megs. And I think the decepticons were the ones who smash it. That was the only part of the trailer I didn't get pissed about. This movie is gonna be friggin' sweet.

Why does the movie partially take place on Mars? My guess is that the transformers head to our solar system looking for energy, land on Mars, find none, realized the rover got its energy from earth, so they head to earth.

When are they gonna release the full preview?

i think that there's no reason why we should believe that there's only ONE transformer prop because we only had pics of one, they probably made one for every character.

why is everyone so reluctant to believe that the TF shown on the teaser is megatron?

who else has a fusion cannon and a bedpan-shaped head?

unfortunately there's a very high chance that all of the transformers will have that "bionicle-like" bot modes like josh said

 

Since Megatron was described as a 'f***ing scary' and cool robot with arms that become dual turrets (no idea if they kept that though), I doubt it's him (I still think Megatron will look like the Terminator's and TransTech Galvatron's lovechild).

 

that shadow screams G1 megatron, i didn't knew that they were talking about reformatting it besides the alien jet altmode.

the fusion cannon & the shape of the head could be conserved without any problems even if you make it transform on a tank, a cybertronian jet or a battle station (they could make him transform into a friggin' teddy bear and the bedpan & cannon could still be used for the robotmode   )

 

Actually, it was said somewhere that Bumblebee is the only character that a 'prop' was made for(at least a complete prop). If I can find the link, i'll post it........

as for the rubber tires, mr. space engineer guru, who said they have to survive in space? it was obvious to me it was in a capsule until it landed.
