I'm not sure weather to put this in GD or Movie Discussion, so i put it here. Anyway, here is what i want to know, are you a Michael Bay fan, or not. I mean, do you like the guy and what he has done to transformers, or hate it? If i see anything posted that is unrelated to this, that is flaming another member, spamming, or any type of argument, i WILL have this thread closed immediately, because we don't need anymore of that on TFW, all i'm asking is if you are positive towards him, or not.

It covers movie stuff, so it should go in the movie forum.

Personally, I don't think Michael Bay has contributed anything productive to the Transformers franchise, nor do I ever expect him to.

I like it. We just flame at him cause not that I am being all knowing.

But we want oh Animated, Oh g1 oh Armada.

GET OVER IT, it is a movie for general audience and us. That's where the market sale is going.

I like Bay, and I like his movies.
Although he could have done Transformers better in certain aspects, overall I still enjoyed both movies very much, so I'm all for him taking the helm of TF3.

His movies take me for a ride, and I loved the majority of them - TF, Pearl Harbor and Armageddon.

Granted, people might dismiss him for not conforming to the criteria of good cinema. But I see it differently - for me he's someone who chooses to do things differently regardless of what people say, and I certainly respect that steadfastness.

I do not have a preset checklist, whereby movies have to tick the boxes in order to be considered good. Rather, it is a boundless medium, and as such there's no right or wrong - for me at least.

Some movies take you for a ride, others are artistic masterpieces. The key is to enjoy both of the spectrum, and not deem one more worthy than the other. As I long as I leave the cinema fully enjoying the experience, it's a good movie because it has succeeded in entertaining me - and both Transformers 1 and 2 has taken me on one hell of a ride.

What do I think of Bay? Hmm, let's see what he's done:

-Two movies that, despite getting shitty ratings, only kicked ass at the box office because of the fans and the people who like action movies and giant robots beating the crap out of each other.
    -Little to no characterization.
    -Contrived and incoherent dialogue.
-Humans having more screentime than the TRANSFORMERS themselves (this ain't Dawson's Creek guest-starring the Transformers).
-Racist stereotypes (Skids and Mudflap, I'm looking at you).
    -Shitastic writing.
    -Bad humor.
    -Bad actors.
-Megan Fox (I've said it before and I'll say it again. She's hot, but she can't act. Period)
    -Devastator having testicles.
-Little to no dialogue for some Transformers.
-Plot of the second movie has been done in a G1 episode.

IMO, to say that Bay raped Transformers would be...informal. I think sexual molestation is much more fitting. I understand this is an action movie, and action movies are meant to to be rides. But if I ever want a ride, it'd better be worth the $10 I had to pay to see one of the worst sequels I've ever seen in the 20 years that I've lived.

Just my :2c: . Also, enough of the Bay threads. The only reason I posted in this was because I felt like posting in here for poops and giggles.

sure, the structure is weak at times, but i just don't think his action scenes can be topped.

His doing a good job, but the group should put him focus on directing, not character design!!
