Quite possibly, as one of the bigger errors in Pearl Harbor (from what I recall of trailers and posters) was a number of highly-visible modern US warships in many scenes.

Also---c'mon, ANY shot of a carrier battlegroup is likely to be stock footage in any movie. Why not use some you already have, instead of buying 30 secs of someone else's generic stock US Navy footage? If you see a Naval ship in a movie, odds are pretty good they didn't film it just for that movie.

I noticed that Col. Sharp from Armeggedon was also in the film although with a diffrent actor.

That was a pretty smart move, actually.

There is a shot in the Transformers movie where Scorponock was getting "rained" on, and two different shot of the explosion shots where identical, down to the debris flying off.

I read a couple years ago that they only studio that does not use recycled footage in anything they make was Disney. How many Studio's reuse sets or props to save money. Plus, He said that all the military footage was given to him free of charge by the government.

I think it is just interesting, be something fun to watch for. As well, I recall Bay saying the movie came in under budget by about $300K, moves like this make it possible. I just don't want to see recycled footage in TF2.

I wouldn't have posted it in that case, just hard without the search function. However, perhaps some new similarities will be found with the movie now in open release.
