March 2010: Peter Newcomb on the Top Hollywood Earners of 2009 | vanityfair.com
Eh.. this is not really TF news. This is Michael Bay news, but that does not make it TF news.
Wrong website bud
Go michael bay
Wow, great news chaps. Michael Bay's just raked in a fortune from Transformers.
... And he's gonna share it with all of us.
The idea that Michael Bay gets money for Every one of the enumerable Bumblebee Action Figures - just disturbs me some how.
I can't but wonder if he only gets payed for On screen characters - or if he gets a set amount - Does Bay get a Cut on Seaspray ?
Wow, really news worthy!!
Hat's off to the guy who thought of putting this to the front page.
When has this site/forum become a Hasbro/Paramount promotion bitch? How do I get on Hasbro's payment roll?
Up until now I never payed attention to any news that wasn't about toys, but the comment about TFW2005 from another tf collector on another forum that I dismissed as a simple Hasbro rant came to my mind imedietaly after reading the title of this thread.
I had to chuckle when I read down the list that Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston are back to back in earnings. Inseparable in any Hollywood list.
James Camerons back-end will kill him. Actually that sounds a little gay...
Personally speaking, the idea that this complete black-hole of talent earns such a wage sickens me; but hey - you all thought Revenge of the Fallen was awwwsoooome, right?
It was stupid
But I don't know many people that could pull a production of this magnitude off
Adleast enough that wouldnt shout Ït's my movie not yours, and i do with it what i want to!".
Forgetting the fact that this movie wouldntv even come under his attention if the fans didnt keep the product alive.....
But i wouldve loved to see Bruckheimer take a shot at Tf's. As long as its not Brian Singer or Paul Andersson.
well, since they make the movies, and this site covers all TF goodness, i'd say this is just fine... i think its cool to see how much he made from this, and his other stuff... and i think its highly inappropriate to call TFW2005 a
so they're only allowed to cover toys and cartoons and movie stuff as long as its not about the guy who made the movies or the company that made the movies? if you haven't realized it, all of TRANSFORMERS has been pretty wrapped up about the movie and everything associated with it since mid 2006... and i think its bound to keep going...
That's alot of money for only one man y'know.
If Michael Bay is making this much money, it goes to show that the franchise as a whole is making money. And guess what? He's gonna make even more because I'm gonna buy a few more ROTF toys before they get pulled off the shelf for the next line.
[I suddenly think I need to prepare for a sh*t-storm after saying that.]
All due respect but that's bologna.
Scale is not an issue in the digital age. There are tons of directors that could have done a better job than Bay. Easy. He's probably a great 2nd unit director with his explosions, but he doesn't understand the word nuance. He thinks emotion means whirling a camera around two people talking. This movie made $ because people took an amusement park ride - most were very sick by the time it was over.
Great for Bay. He's earned every bit of it. Now bring on #3 so you can make even more money and we have something to talk about.
And just think: He's going to make even more for the making the next movie shittier than the 2nd film.
As long as Transformers fans are happy paying money to watch Bay and the rest of his crew turn our beloved robots into trash on the big screen, then I guess I'm happy too.
I wonder what James Cameron would have done with the movies.
Take 15 years to make it?
