If people are using a leaked script to pass judgement on the finished product when they've been told OVER AND OVER it's unrepresentative, then they should expect a bit of name-calling (it's not as f they don't dish it out). I'd get frustrated myself and end up saying far worse than "dickwad" to 'em! That AICN forum is populated by baying (no pun intended) savages. I'm ashamed to be even remotely associated with them in Micheal Bay's mind - I just wish he'd visit more restrained sites like this one to get proper feedback free from immature hysteria.

Okay, so I'm a fan of Mr. Bay's movies and he's my favourite 'popcorn' director (unlike some, I realise different cinema styles can co-exist quite happily)... The idea that this is the most action packed of all of them??? Wheeeeeeeeee... I feel like a kid again!

 

I remember the uproar when Bay said "adult geeks".
I wonder what ire "dickwad" will bring.

And, I have looked at the boards over at AICN but I didn't feel like I should post.
Apparently you have to know everything about everything to post on that board.
Unfortunately, an absolute knowledge of everything seems to bring an absolute hatred of everything. I offer the AICN boards as proof of my theory.

 

I just recently read the old leaked script (yes i know , a day late and a dollar short) and i thought it rocked. And by the way Micheal bay, if you read this just know, to hell with what all of the haters are saying. You dont get a bank account as large as yours by making a lot of sucky movies.

 

I've never envied Bay's position. To be placed in charge of something with an established following is no easy task. I consider myself a pretty strict G1 fan and were I making the film, I know plenty of people would find fault with it. I don't agree with every decision made on the film, but I'm still excited to see it.

That said, some net people need a smack and I'm glad he told them off.

 

The most action he's ever done, huh? Needless to say, I'm looking forward to his updates. 7/4/07 can't get here fast enough.

 

I hear you, The guy is no Martin Scorcese(sp?). But really who is?(besides the man himself) But one thing he can do is make some really awesome action scenes. I really like The Rock it is a great movie. I am fully looking foward to the TFs I grew up with to mature and KICK SOME ASS!! Almost got an R rating? I say   BRING IT ON!

 

Bay=Coolest person since... a really, cool.. person!

I am behind Bay 100%. Action is good, wholesome, family-friendly fun for all!

 

Lol, Bay sure laid the smackdown on the haters. Wonder what he's gonna have to say to them once Transformers ends up being the hit of the summer.  
Anyways, I can't wait to see the finished product. It sounds like a lot of hard work is being put into it, and I think it'll be a fantastic movie.

 

Blah.. Bay just can't pull off the name calling as well as Don Murphy. These guys do that just to get people pissed off and create buzz about the movie. It's an easy way to generate free press.

 

It's unfortunate but you'd think that after 2 years any possible detractive remarks that could be said have been said already....But whatever, if I seriously didn't like how it was going I'd have stopped paying attention to movie news ages ago

Being so movie oriented, I still wonder what movie related people are slated to be guests at this year's BotCon

Pretty tame compared to what the more contentious TF fan boards say about & call him. I still think that for just being the director he takes WAY too much heat. I mean sure he might not have the online viper's tongue like Don Murphy. But he'd probably save the big stuff when he's in your face.

 

Bay has taken a LOT of Flak for this film, but he's only begun reaching out to the community recently to appease that. I remember YEARS ago when this first started Don Murphy said "When I did League of Extraordinary Gentlemen I had no idea there was a fan base that I needed to speak too directly, I won't make that mistake again" Mr. Bay has just been learning the same lesson more quickly this time.

Really He approved Robot designs that were so DRASTICLLY diffrent than what we'd seen over the last 23 years, but the flak he deserved came from basiclly telling us "Thats how "I" want it done"

 

When I think about the upcoming movie, I can't help but on the inside to say:

GIGGITY GIGGITY!!
