Considering we've already seen the catalogue for the toys. I'm pretty sure we all already knew that. But still good to hear it officially from the man himself :)

Not really surprising. There's still a question of what versions we'll see in the movie given the variations we've seen in pictures.

I can feel the outrage building now. :)
How many 'he LIED to us' posts do you think we'll get out of it?

Well, actually we already knew the designs were finalized the moment they announced rendering had started, i.e. back when Murphy anounced it around mid-december.

Logic and Rationality is no counter for a fan rant. You should know that by now. ;)

and also the age of the images, none of them are dated, so they could well be very old. the toys can't be taken as proof of what they will look like - just look at all of the versions of totally different primes, certainly the leader class one doesnt even seen the most accurate

Yeah, amusingly, the only image for which we have a date is the unused red Ratchet, which the pic says is from november 05.

Well, one things for sure, from one of the early design sketches of prime, I think he has changed so much that it is impossible for them to turn him back after the whining lol :D

Check out the official movie forum (if you can stomach it) - The red faced hysterics are in full swing. I've now officially and irrevocably deleted that place from my favourites list FOREVER - It's sad that a forum dedicated to a movie about robots can cause me such despair.

And I see someone beat me to the "'last year' was only a few weeks ago" comment I was going to add - I think it's common sense that ever since the teaser trailer was released, the designs have been "final", but somehow hearing it from Micheal Bay sends people into an apoplexy of rage.

Meh. Kind of common sense when you think about it. I would assume that the designs have been final from the point that we new the CGI rendering was started. Of course they would be final by than! :horse:

And, it's not surprising that the movie site would have a bunch of crazy people in a frenzy, just take a look in our movie sub-forum sometime and look at all the recently joined people who are only here to bitch about how everything abou the new movie sucks. Sure, the movie brought back some of the old fanbase that walked away after G1, however, I don't think half of them are capable of reconciling with this new movie, because it borrows elements from EVERY Transformers series. Oh well...

Yes, it is true. The designs are final and ppl are complaining, but have they seen them in action? Nooooooo! They haven't and alot of them will be so stuck what should have been, to enjoy what is.

I on the otherhand, can accept change as long as it is a decent story and exicting! I believe this will be just that.

When you consider that, by human nature, people only speak up when they have something to complain about (product forums are never about how great something is working), it hasn't really been too terribly bad. A few heads exploding here and there, but that's about it.
