I thought Michael Bay was getting fat, growing a beard and wearing flannel now.

That was the only thing I could think off. Maybe Tyler Durden was working the reels and snuck in some "alternate" footage.

As for the product placement. The stuff in the theater didn't really bother me. Changing something like that for the home video release seems very strange to me. I also think the original looked better.

When Luke approaches Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi, if you squint reeeeeeeeeally hard to his left, you'll see that not only is Yakface holding a can of Coca-Cola, but he also has a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee and a Mickey Mouse hat.

Okay, what is the point of the thread? Pointing out advertisements that are in plain sight? If you're gonna complain about HP and Cisco, then don't forget to point out Burger King and General Motors too.

The point of this thread was to showcase changes made in the film from it's theatrical release to DVD, and also to create interest in finding any more changes.

Unfortunately, I feel this thread has been driven widely off topic. Maybe I should have gave it a better title.

I really haven't seen any changes, just the laptop screen swap.

I didn't see any changes in the movie at all. Everything I saw in the theatrical showing, is on my mom's DVD. I hope its like that when I buy the TWO-DISC version.

I remember that there was a reel change in the midst of that scene, too (disjointed music, oval blobs in the corner). That sounds like a very viable explanation for his missing footage.

Devastator was never intended to change. I bet you anything Bay just said that to shut the Toy people up. Bay already has said he preferred Devastator and never intended to change the name. Bay is quite accomplished at talking out of both sides of his mouth. Remember his Blu Ray tantrum turned HD-DVD support turned back to "I still think Blu Ray is better"?

It's just his way of giving the people in charge of him and G1 obsessed fanboys a big F U

Back on topic. Those were some interesting pictures over at the Allspark. I hadn't noticed the change. Good to have another reason to watch the movie again. It will be hard to notice changes on the DVD as I only saw the Moive four times before the DVD release. :lol  Anyway, I wonder how much Bay got for that change?

Pah. Who cares? The movie has gigantic robots killing each other! I would've never figured it out myself. Heck, when Lennox talks to his family, I always just anticipate the epic "battle" that quickly ensues it.

Just wait until Transformers 2, when Grimlock stops after biting Skywarp in half to use a Crest Whitening strip on his teeth.

And Soundwave complains that his pulse cannon doesn't work within the remarkably quiet and roomy 2009 Tahoe.

After 1/2 of the autobots turn up at the wrong location at the final battle, Prime will comment on how none of this all would have happened if all the Autobots just used their On Star navigation.

The blatant advertisements will astound you!
