Barf. His idea of making them last is to make American Pie with guest appearances by robots.

Whether or not you agree that his movies have done anything for the lore or your overall feelings of adoration for the brand, his influence on the popular culture perspective of Transformers has been invaluable. No Bay and chances are we'd still be lamenting why there's not more Beast Wars toys coming out. Before the movies many of us had lapsed into other hobbies and all but walked away from TF. Now that he's investing new life into the franchise it's very much alive and well. With all due respect, Bay haters can suck it.

    wtf give it lasting legs.

This will be priceless. Even with the toy that it is he still thinks it needs saving.

Honestly he should of left it all dead and rebooted because the story arc he provided with that horror show trilogy it gets out shined by the video games badly.

man gets millions of dollars and talents to make a great transformers movie and what we get is to make excuses why it had to be this way.

Im done with Bay or giving him a shot great cinematic camera guy but a horrible director and the writers should fire them selves and go into earlier retirement.

Calling them transformers movies even feels like a diservice

He always says that. Until they stop making money (at which point paramount won't do more anyways), Bay will keep doing them I think.

What will be more interesting/pointless is seeing what passes for a new direction in his eyes. Hasbro is doing this to introduce more characters they won't make toys of (you know like Que, Leadfoot, Dino and Soundwave). But every movie has had new characters- the problem is they usually get about two lines and you can barely see them in the background past Bumblebee's big head.

Last I heard, they were still planning on keeping BB and Prime around (although I'm not sure a script exists yet, so we'll see).

I'd love to see what someone else does with it. I'm sure 4 will just be more of the same (maybe with different characters- but I wouldn't be surprised if there are fewer than we've been lead to believe).

If Hasbro and Paramount really want a new direction (and new characters), what they should do is start a second spin off series being made at the same time with a different director and writer. Maybe it's beast wars, maybe it's hearts of steel, maybe it's some other outpost in the same time as Bay's movies covering different characters. Maybe it's a mostly CG cybertron based series. I don't know.

Just something different. I won't believe Bay is really leaving until a new director is actually rolling camera on TF5. I'm also skeptical as to how much will really change on 4 with Bay at the helm. They always say it'll be a big change and it never is.

Geez, some people need to go to anger management or something. I do believe his term "lasting legs" only means that he will leave the ending of the movie open for further movies and allow others to build of it. Some people are just so picky and cant handle things that dont fall perfectly in line with what they want. We wouldnt have near the figures and renewed excitement over the brand without him. So much hate in here. How about you wait and see what the story even is. You guys dont even want to give it a chance. Geez. Its just how everyone was dogging Prime when they saw the previews of the upcoming episode when it came back from its hiatus, and now people love where its going. Some of you people need to chill. If you dont like him, guess what....dont go see the movie.

Hopefully this one will be about the Transformers instead of big boobed chicks without bras on running away from giant explosions caused by Transformers.

I admit it really is fascinating watching these disasters unfold. Both the movies themselves and Hasbro's hilarious bungling.

What's that exclamation, you know, the one where your brain goes off like a landmine at sheer awesomeness... ah, yes.
