I do give credit to the long-term fans for keeping the brand alive for all these years. Some of which who joined together to start this very site.

And it's true about Bayverse capturing the general audience. Only a handful of people from my country (yes, I'm talking about the entire country here) knew about Transformers before 2007. Now, the brand is a household name here. Everyone and their grandma knows about Transformers. The first three movies became the most successful foreign films since Jurassic Park (1993).

I disagree with them being more G1 style. Less cartoon and ethnic caricatures and stereotypes and more clean and consistent designs. There were a lot of great autobot and decepticon designs from the first 3 movies. If the stick with high tech designs and don’t go with any stupid earth motifs like knight or samurai that are low tech compared to what these robots are, they’ll be on point.

Please Bay go away!  You have made a mockery of this franchise with your lack of character development, plot, story structure and premise.  You took great characters and pissed them away, and made the franchise a Rotten Tomatoes favorite.

I think what we all want at this point is less humans and more traditional Transformer designs. I don't know if Bay and co ever understood this, not trying to insult but try and think about the fans as well.

Exactly. Also if they go back to the first trilogy style with the car parts visible that would be good.

I think this movie franchise needs being coherent in ANY way. Right now it's not even in line with itself... Like with the first movies, to begin with.

Who cares what this loon has to say, he's toast. The movies are a huge disappointment no matter how you slice it.

Maybe next time we can get TransFormers movies. Maybe.

I wish I could agree; but any more all I see is that it’s the existing fan base that does all the complaining about these films.

When Michael Bay himself says that the movies need to change shit up, you know you've hit rock bottom with this stupidity.

Dude, he literally just said that his interpretation is "The franchise needs to go in a new direction". How can you even read that as "more of the same" when the guy is posting on social media that the franchise needs to be refreshed?

Plot for the next movie after 'Bumblebee: The Movie':

Unicron destroys the universe and a heroic group of Autobots travel back in time to stop him. Galvatron follows them.

Both the Autobots and Galvatron influence history and make a few changes ('That's right, you guys need a makeover. You wanna look a bit less freaky to the natives where we're going.

Also, brighter decos for everybody. Arcee, try pink. They love that. Really.

And, everyone, get a frikkin' personality.'

Past Megatron, upon meeting his future self, swore that he would bow to no one (Actual comment - 'F**k that! I'm not gonna be anyone's b***h! And will you please stop beating up my second-in-command.)

However, he was not averse to gaining useful knowledge of the future .
(What do you mean, everyone thinks grey, brown is boring? And who says our combiners look ugly? You got better ideas? Hmm, those don't look too bad..The transformation's weird but we can fix that.

    What does KSI stand for?')

Eventually there was a huge battle between the Autobots and Decepticons over Earth, which ended when both ships crashed on Earth. The crews of both ships went into emergency stasis for millions of years.

Time-travelling Autobot, on waking from stasis : 'Where the f*** am I?. Oh yeah, computer, search for current of Sam Witwicky'.

Teletraan-1: 'Checking.......Never heard of him, but I can find you a Spike, Sparkplug, Buster, Daniel......'

He has a point. "Fresh take" and "new direction" doesn't mean reboot though. The movie-franchise has a wide range of stories it can still tell with characters established and areas that haven't been explored.

They definitely helped keep it alive all these years prior to the movies, but the Bayverse would have thrived without us, and probably would have endured far less complaining lol
