Here he is, my new Metroplex custom. I'm really happy
with his look, a mix of classic G1 and FOC design.
I added smd led's in the antennas and a 9V powersupply
    behind the chest flap.

Excellent work my man. Excellent. Id like to know more however. What did you use to create said awesome piece and does he transform? Articulated hands or no?

    first,thanks man!

I used wrecked up G1 and Cybertron Metroplex.
Because of the missing parts on the G1, i decided to go non transformable.

here you can see the balljoints i used

This looks fantastic! Very tempted to give this a shot at some point, as I can't imagine the odds of getting an official Metroplex are very good...

    thank you guys!

@cooljaz: yes, upper legs from cybertron, lower legs G1

@strangeguy: I love using legos! I have 5 kilos of lego joints and parts...my unborn children could do customs with this amount of parts

cool... the past couple of days ive been watching some cheap incomplete G1 figs on ebay, was going to try to make a larger scale G1 Metroplex, i think this just solved my dilemma

would you happen to have some pics of this next to any other figures. i have the Cybertron Metroplex and its a pretty tall figure, curious as to how big this thing is now

Wish the same, but it was not possible with the parts. Getting spareparts here in germany is often a nightmare due to the high shipping costs.

Now i have to finish up the wiring for the led's and his detachable antennas
    (also selfmade of alloy tubes)

This is amazing! I was thinking precisely about doing this combo after the FOC trailer, would you mind if I give this a shot using your design as inspiration? I would absolutely love to try! :)

Really? The FOC trailer was a boost for mine too!

Go on and make your own, it is great fun to build!

If you need greeble details (Little raised panels that have no function whatsoever), you could use "Donated" facets from lego bricks. By than I mean cut off the sides of the brick and then paste them in place.

I made the balljoints in the chest tighter and they are supported by the
    ones on the back.
They are strong enough to carry that weird Cybertron Metro weapon thing.

    @strangeguy: thx for that tip
