well the decison has been taken and after much debate this will be my long term project... this will replace my original metroplex project since this one is more in the style of the type of buildings that i built...

here are some of his features:

    -lighted towers
    -high attention to details
    -speech and weapon sounds
-specials effect that will be incorporated in him...

this is but a few of the thing that he will have and metroplex will be no more then 3 feet tall...MAX lol

so if you have suggestions your more then welcome to post you ideas here

this will take some time to build because it will be scratch and nothing will be left to chance and this type of project cannot be rushed and will have things that will blow you away i promise !!

Make a little Optimus for him to hold. It would be cool if you could put the Optimus in a spot in City mode and it would light up blue like in the video.

Not to beat a dead robo-horse to death, but what DID happen to your other Metroplex? If you're not going to finish him, would you consider selling to someone else who wanted to complete it? (Not that I'm asking for me, lol)

Only suggestions I have would be to make it as awesome and feature-packed as the original.

That trailer really inspired some people....

HOLY crap that's going to be huge....I think the head is the most important part to nail though. The tear-lines are really striking.

i,ve dropped the first metroplex because of the cost to build this guy, also there are so many new things that i wanted to do on him that i would literally needed to rebuild him which took too long and also it,s too big and i needed to sacrifice some articulation which is unacceptable so that,s why this one will be 3 feet tall max instead of the 4.5 feet tall that the first one was

it will be as, if not more featured pack then the first one

if anyone wants to finish him i,m more then willing to negociate ;)

excellent idea this will defenitly be incorporated

also i will need to build custom joint system which i dredd big time... if i had any skills in autocad i would design them and send them to shapeways

i,m trying to find a way to design a clicky joint system for metroplex that will allow his to have full movement and be as big as 3 feet talll....

i,ve checked some that already exist but they,re nowhere near what i need... and this could possibly interest people who build big transformers such as myself...

As I suggested to Wheeljack before (for his big ass Omega project) I would use sockets and rahcets (think automotive tools) They would be strong enough fo' sho' but a bit expensive. You should be able to get away with generic tools though. You would have to build a way to be able to get at the switch (not nessasery for the shoulders) but you would need to for most other joints.
If I didn't explain it well let me know, I'll try to do better.

yeah i thought of that but it would be fun to have some plastic gears and joints at shapeways that we could order and do the same job i have the ideas, just not the tools to do it yet but i,m checking a few options and if it works, it will be benificial to all customizers...

Just my opinion, but I dont think the regular TF plastic gear set up will hold up to the weight of such a big figure. Again just my opinion.

anemis, when you get to work on this one, be sure to start a new thread in Customs showing your work. Conceptual threads go in Creative General Discussion, so here we are!

Anemis, PM your email. I have some ideas. It'd be more of a machined/lasercut setup instead of gears that everyone could buy. but at that scale and strength, I'd agree with Alloy Alchemist, and I'd have a hard time believing it'd be strong enough (or worth the price) to print.

Also working on a large scale Metroplex, in my case entirely 3D printed.

So I'm on the look out for good joint options as well, I've got a few plans, but nothing tested yet, I'll be sure to share my results here as I try some things out.

Thank you, I was waiting to see if you liked that idea. There are a lot of things to be done to elaborate that. Like when Prime is placed in his hand, Metroplex could light up and say "Metroplex heeds the call of the last Prime." You could also have the weapons use a laser pointer bulb to simulate laser targeting.
