Lately, my wife and kids have started taking over my Wii purchases. A few weeks ago she got EA Sports Active. Not long before that it was DDR. I even got stuck with the Naked Brothers Band. Even the VC hasn't been safe. Someone put Yoshi's Story on this thing. The worst part is that they get these games and only play them once or twice. I play a game to death when I get it myself.

So last night we went to EB Games. My wife started playing the Wii Sports Resort demo. She's doing the sword fighting and talking about what a fun game it is and to go check the price. So I go to the Wii section on the other side of the store, and there is Metroid Prime Trilogy, in it's shiny metal case. I honestly wasn't expecting to see it because we usually don't get games until a couple of days after they come out. Anyway, to make a long story short, Wii Sports Resort was overruled and as of today everyone but me has lost interest in the Wii, and I've got 3 games worth of content before anyone else is even allowed to think about switching discs on this thing. Hahhahahahhahaha...

That metroid trilogy is really tempting.
I traded in MP3 and MP1 towards GTA4 and instantly regretted it, just never got around to buying them back.
Kind of glad I didnt now.

I kind of want to get the trilogy, but I never finished MP 1 or 2 on the GC, I lost interest too quickly (or became overwhelmed...don't really remember).

I'm curious if the Wii style control scheme will keep me playing until I complete the game.

I'm definitely getting trilogy. I haven't played any of the Metroid Prime games and all I hear is good things. Can't wait.

i'm definitely impressed myself. the controls are like a night and day difference and they really add a lot to the game. there's a comparison video of the control schemes here: http://www.gamesradar.com/wii/metro...0090814101241280075/g-2009052293219244092/p-3 you can see just by watching that the gamecube controls look stiff and unnatural compared to the wii version. it makes everything feel more natural and takes away any awkwardness that the original games had.

    Metroid Prime Trilogy

So it's out now. Who got it? While it makes me feel just slightly screwed for having purchased Prime 3 last year, the awesome of Prime 1 and 2 with usable controls was worth it. And I wouldn't mind blowing through Prime 3 again anyway. It's practically the Orange Box of Metroid. I don't think I'll need to purchase another game for some time now.
