Non-TF: Meth Addicted Elmo: Breaking Sesame Street Custom Plush Toy

    Originally created as an entry for actor Misha Collin's (Castiel on Supernatural) "GISHWHES" Online Scavenger Hunt: "What would a Tickle-Me-Elmo look like if it had a serious crystal meth problem?" Using my skills as a toy customizer, I created this.

    -x1 9.5" Elmo plush (with rubber apron, and velcro gloves)
    -x1 Canister, labeled "Methylamine" (empty)
    -multiple ziplock packets of blue rock candy, as a reference to the TV series "Breaking Bad".
    -Also included are various denomination of Canadian "school" money, to make it clear Elmo's new 'business' is booming.

    This figure is non-toxic, but given the subject matter (and generally horrific look Elmo's drug problem), I'd avoid giving this to small children. :) 


    As far as how the custom was made:

    I used a lighter to singe the heck out of his fur, and a hot glue gun to create the 'scabs'. The rest was painted with Vallejo acrylics (eye lids), and Citadel red/fleshwash/black ink mix on his sores.
    Black rubber apron/gloves actually use to be a black rubber glove, and shoelaces hotglued around him forms his apron.

    Elmo's blue 'meth' is actually the same stuff they use on Breaking Bad: blue rock candy. I mixed it with blue crystal sprinkles to increase the volume per baggie. The "Methylamine" canister I believe was a random barrel. Velcro tabs on each glove, and on his back let Elmo pose/hold the canister.
