“The VIACONS are a long lived race of techno-organic beings that reside on the sentient world of VIACON 1. Recently emerging from a millennia long war that decimated much of their population and leveled their once great cities-the Viacons seek to rebuild their Empire and restore it to its former glory. During the Great Viaconian Wars, much of their population were scattered across the quadrant, existing in small pockets of lawless outposts throughout the system. In the new order, the Viacon Republic and its Senate, have sought to reunite all Viaconians back into the fold. However, an ancient enemy, long thought extinct and only spoken of in myth, has made a silent return. Cloaked in secrecy, the Tecrom have infiltrated parts of the Senate and have begun undermining the foundation of its rule. The few who are aware of the threat have formed a clandestine resistance-systematically recruiting into their ranks, those who posses unique qualities that will aid them in their struggle to expose and ultimately drive out the Tecrom."

    Hey Guys/Gals,

Metal Head is the second of many more characters I intend to create-Tempest* being the first. Metal Head is meant to inject a little Rock 'n" Roll into the mix. The first in a series of music based characters, Metal Head comes with "Scuz," his cordless electric axe guitar that doubles as a plasma axe.

I'd have to say Metal Head is definitely one of my more excentric characters, so I hope you stay tuned, and enjoy his bio and a bit of his back-story. And please feel free to comment, ask questions or take the short poll I've set up above. Enjoy!!

    NAME: Metal Head
    AFFILIATION: Viacon Resistance
POSITION: Intergalactic Rockstar, Part-Time Spy and Full-Time Womanizer

    METAL HEAD BIO:
Metal Head is the lead guitarist of the no non-sense, kick the door down, bust your skull, whistle while you work, inter-galactic rock band, "Optic Crush." When he's not shredding it on stage, or gettin' it on with groupies, he lends a hand, fist or snarky remark, to the Viacon cause. He's willing to risk life, limb and maybe a couple shots to the face, if not for but a chance to win the affections of a one, electric blue Femacon operative. With smokey eyes, sultry lips and curves that could melt the bolts off a reinforced Tritanium chassis; she is his Great White Buffalo. Unfortunately, Tempest* can't seem to stand the sight of him. Not one to take “NO!!” for an answer in his quest for a little sugar, he’s determined to win her over, just to prove Scuz wrong. Often seen conversing with his trusty axe, many question his full processing power, but never his loyalty. For almost five stellar cycles-ever since their first run-in at a botched intel mission he inadvertently caused with his raunchy stage show at a local karoke bar, he's tried to swoon Tempest with tall tales of debauchery and re-bottled Cryon ale.* He's often heard using stale pick-up lines he'd learned from old Plato, famed alumn of the prestigious Blues Academy of Performing Arts-his on-again off-again mentor, manager and full-time drinking buddy. Through a little tenacity, some luck and a lot of nagging, he eventually recruited himself into the Viacon underground, the only part-time freedom fighter in the resistance, who claims to care less about the out come but a lot about the cause. Whatever his meaning, he hates the Tecrom, for shutting down his comeback special a few cycles back. With Oracle’s* aid and using his celebrity, he is able to access objectives otherwise unattainable by his peers making him invaluable to the Resistance. In this latest romp to Viacon 1, after his band's recent lip sync debacle, Metal Head again, set his sights on Tempest, determined to win her over with a serenade of the hit song in question, "Girl who's gonna miss U," before she gets wind of the scandal.

Cryon ale*-exotic energy drink that comes from a distant moon of the same name where Metal Head originates

Colonel Plato*-The best blues bot of the quadrant and Metal Head's mentor and manager. They met during their stint in a traveling vaudeville show.

Oracle*- Young, exceedingly rare, non-transforming female Viacon whose cortex can tap directly into Viacon 1's ancient CPU, allowing each to control a portion of the planet’s power grid. (Extremely intelligent, but for unknown reasons, is in love with Metal Head)

Tempest*-See Tempest thread below for bio.

I love the head and really like the weapon and back story. I think it would be great if you did some more junkicons heads, weapons and chest pieces. I know Maiden in Japen makes some great products but as long as yours are diffrent than his I'm pretty sure people would be happy to be able to get your stuff too.

You evil genius! Great back story, very nice sculpt as well. You should either give him a blaster or attachment for his guitar that emits energy blasts in order to "melt faces" rock and roll style.

The design is interesting, but I'm still dying for accurate replicas of Junkion heads. There are at least five that Maiden Japan has not yet released and there is a definite need for completing the look of all the original character designs.

I'll have to leave that task to MJ. Its not really my thing, and besides he does excellent work. If it aint broke....right? Besides, I'm a big fan of his. Anyhow, I'm more about creating new characters. But I definately appreciate the suggestion.

Dude, I do this for people like you man. I REALLY appreciate those who are willing to venture out to new things. I guess its the artist in me. Also, I use to be a script editor here in Los Angeles, so I have a deep appreciate for creativity and story.

I believe Daisuki (Maiden Japan)'s chestsplate idea was a stroke of Genius. However, modeling a chestplate digitally would be very difficult, time consuming and ultimately expensive as there would be alot of trial and error due to fit issues. There would be too much to measure, and if for some reason you were off by a millimeter or so, the chest wouldn't fit securely or at all. Remember there is no model of the figure available digitally for you as reference.

Although, I can traditionally sculpt a chestplate myself-I was an in house modeler at Creation's Ink in the early 2000's, it wouldn't be viable due to the fact that half the set was already digital.

However, I do plan on manking more weapons, not just the music base characters. Besides, I'm sure you can interchange any weapon I make in the future anyway. I'll make sure to make some "fun" ones. And fit shouldn't be that much of an issue, aren't all pegs like 5mm?

Thanks, man I was hoping folks would "get it." So is it safe to assume you're a fellow headbanger? lol. Metal Head is a knod to the the decade of excess. Ah, good times. As you know, EVERYTHING WAS BIG IN THE 80's. I wanted to give Metal Head that OVER THE TOP-ANTHEM ROCK, Van Helen, Warrent, Motley Crue-esque feel. With a bit of Sledge Hammer and Milli Vanilli thrown in for good measure. lol.

But yeah, when I do make other weapons, they'll generally mirror the personaliy of the character. In Metal Head's case, that personality would be "CRAZY" so there in lye the axe guitar. But I'm working on a few other things right now, so more weapons will have to wait. But I guarentee alot of weapons will be "fun."

    CHEERS GUYS!!

Yes, it does. but there are tolerances the printers can handle, especially with the higher detail prints. Also, I wouldn't recommend printing anything organic, hollow. There is a tendency for the surface of the prints to come out grainy and porous.

I really love his bio. Very colorful. Am very impressed by the head design especially. Unfortunately the turnaround on shapeways doesn't give you the best look at the head, but seeing a close up of the model and the awesome painted print, I'm definitely going to be getting this when I get the chance.

Thank you for your support. I hope you find my other characters worthy of your financial support as well. I'll always try to hit that "cool" factor when creating the look of a character and will try to make their personalities and backstories as engaging and multi-layered as possible. As I've learn in past experience, working in both modeling houses and television entertainment, these are two factors creators should always strive for when introducing new characters.

Thanks for the compliment, its very much appreciated. If you have any questions or comments about my characters please feel free to ask. I'm always happy to answer and give a bit more insight on my thought process with regards to creating each character.

I hope you continue to follow my threads-they can easily be found here in the Radicon's section. I will always post using colorful renders of my characters OR you can just do a quick search using the key words "Tecrom Designs." You can also find all my work in the Fan Art section below.

I'm just chiming in to say i think this is grand. I'd like to see more Junkion kits available. I think Maiden Japan has covered a lot of the heads, but if any subgroup was better qualified to have miscellaneous weapons packs, I can't think of one.

(I'd like to see a big ol' Lobo-style meathook on a chain, personally.)

Hell yeah!! "Pick up a chainsaw and listen to me, its time to get in on the fight!"

Thanks, love Maiden Japan's stuff too. And yes the music based characters can definitely work as a subgroup if you so choose.

Lobo huh...meat hook huh. I like it. I like it. Keep 'em coming.

    heads

You should make just the Metal Head's head available as a separate piece. Some might not want the huge guitar/axe weapon and it only increases the cost. Or you could make a file with just the heads from the kits.
