I was browsing blogs and found an old entry regarding metal gear solid figures. The poster mentioned the figures were based on the Twin Snakes for Gamecube, but I have no idea if its true or if they were ever released, cancelled or just fan-made.

The post was made back in 2007 but I've never seen them and wondered if these were japanese exclusives or something.

If anyone has any info about these regarding release date or availability, it would be much apreciated because I can't find anything and they look pretty sweet to me :)

I had a feeling these were probably resin kits since you can't easily find them..

After some digging, I was right...

Check out this auction for a resin meryl:

    Here is Sniper Wolf

Those were the only two i really cared to look at closer :p

There rest can be found by the above seller's store

    Ah, I see.
I figured as much, since I couldn't find them anywhere. And up close, not that great.

    Case closed I guess.
    Thanks for the help ranoobu

Thanks for the heads up dude! For a moment I thought I missed out on these great figures! I'm not keen on resin models! :p

:p  i'm referring to the artist who did the picture that has the black hair that you are referring to.

I figured you'd know what resin kits are.. and if the artist wants green/black/purple hair, they can do it :)

I've started buying every variation of every Metal Gear game released thus far and have started buying the trade paperbacks. I'm thinking on getting a few figurines, but don't know what I should get.

The Medicom 12 inch figures are absolutely awesome, but they seem to vary from reasonably priced to outrageously priced. There are also the McFarlane figures that vary in the $20 range, but they don't seem too posable.

    Any suggestions?

From experience, I'd suggest skipping the Kotobukiya 20th Anniversary figures. The sculpting isn't great and articulation is minimal. There's a line of 1/6 scale figures based on MGS1 characters that were released around the same time as the game, but I've no idea how easy they are to find now.

... as much as I'd love to keep this under my hat in the off chance that this ends up being a limited release and I want to cut down on the number of people who might know about it, it's ludicrous to think that SOMEBODY isn't going to mention this eventually, so here goes.

Do you like high quality toys? How about Metal Gear Solid? Have you, like me, had a perpetual wet dream since roughly 1998 wishing that someone would make a Metal Gear Rex toy?

Ashley Wood (god bless that man) and Kojima have your back -

No word yet on release date, price, or if it'll be sold through Sideshow or just through 3A's online store as of yet.

From comparison shots the size will be somewhere around 15-17" tall, like the 3A World War Robot figures it'll likely be made from a combination of PVC, Cast Resin and ABS plastic, and the price will likely be in the range of $300-400.

Rex is long over due for a toy. But at a possible $300 to $400 range, I'm sitting out of this race.
