That was a nice nostalgia trip. I loved MG as a kid, but never realized how altered it was from the Japan version. Snake's revenge was a piece of crap game and unplayable for me. Right now I'm playing the real sequel "MG 2: Solid Snake" for the first time and it's a lot of fun.

Never played any MGS games before, but I picked up that set too. So far I am about an hour into MGS...It's kinda kicking my ass, but I am digging it!

I only ever played MGS2 before. So that was a good reason to pick up the set. MGS is kicking my ass too :lol

on the original MGS it was the only way to get meryl's codec number. By looking at the screencaps on the back of the box

LOL don't remind me and to make it worse, I played the Japanese version of the game first and it took me forever to figure out that the codec was on the box. none of the in game hints since i can't read the language lol.

I had Meryl's codec on the original MGS and never did anything like looking at the box.

The MGS4 wrap party was in Japan yesterday and they unveiled alot more stuff in MGS4. Along with that were several zany Japanese advertisements for the game, and one awesome Movie style trailer for the game. Kotaku has linked the videos in this post:

    http://kotaku.com/389818/new-new-new-mgs4-trailers

The first video is the Movie style trailer, and the rest are just wacky commercials. But give the movie style trailer a watch. It was pretty damned awesome.
