I swear the bricking 360s thing is overrated and or (just like PS2 when it came out) a relatively isolated experience trumped up by the sheer number of complaints people that had it happen to them make. I still have my first 360 from launch day. I have at least 18 friends with 360s, and only 4 of them have experienced the red ring of death (and one had his on top of a cable box with a DVD player on top the 360).

MGS for 360... eh, I haven't really cared for Metal Gear since the first one on PS1. It remains my favorite.

real sad thing is how are you ment to enjoy playing games on the 360 when you feel like its 50/50 every time you turn the thing on if its going to work or not? at least with my ps3 i never have these problems and i get all the extras like wi-fi thrown in from the start unlike the 360

Maybe the new mgs game might be based on different characters threw mgs1 upto mgs4 and their adventures

I find it very easy. Turn it on and start playing. I've had mine just under a year an no problems. If it red rings, big deal. I'll send it to MS, they fix it and I get back to playing.

I hope it is a Metal Gear for the 360 but only in the vein of the SOLID series. That's what I really want or a port of MGS4. Hell I've still made sure to avoid completely spoiling the story of MGS4 for myself still!

    knook your sig is ace!!

also Dirge121 microsoft DONT just fix ANY problem your 360 has. for example if your processor breaks due to the shit-tashist motherboard melting then they do NOT fix it unless you pay them 70 to fix it. also if the ram chips break on the motherboards they dont fix that either. They WILL fix the Xclamps problem and the RROD issue if its a SOFTWARE issue and NOT a hardware issue. i know this because i have had these issues several times.

best choice is to send them to custom places off ebay which FIX the Xclamps issue for good - by adding a proper disk drive. They also change the cooling fans so they work much better and they add cooling blocks which work better.

Well yeah, thats why I said red ring specifically. That is easily the most widespread complaint.

MGS4 can stay on PS3. While I think the game is well made and spectacular, it was a massive let down in the gameplay department. I would love to have MGO on Live though, I didn't even touch it on PS3 after the hoops I had to jump to play the beta. It's also one of the few games that I really consider Playstation.

I'll still buy it (if it is MGS4) but only because MGS has some god damn hex on me that makes me buy every game multiple times. Also, achievements.

That's because it has been well documented that Konami based the art on that exact actor: http://static.flickr.com/50/133374501_9f2e9ee958.jpg

    Nice

Lol whut? Nearly everyone I know with that console has had it go bad on them. Speaking of this, do the newer hardware revisions still prone to this problem?

While I love my 360, the hardware problems remain. My brother is on his eighth 360, poor guy. One time he got the RROD, he went through the mumbo jumbo and got a new one back. Damn thing RROD'ed in two weeks.

    Hope mine doesn't die...

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there is no hardware problem, that would be a foolish thing to suggest ;)  All I'm saying is that GP's original post of it being 50/50 whether you can turn it on or not is a massive exaggeration to the point of comedy.
