Beyblade is only Takara's best selling toyline of all time.

Also, the anime and toyline are expected to hit North America fall 2010.

You mean the NEW ones, right?

Cause we aleady got the first 2 series and the first 2 lines that lasted about 6 months until Yu-Gi-Oh! came around.

This thread is about the new series that launched in August 2008 in Japan. The manga followed in October, with the anime premiering this past April. So I thought it would be obvious that I was talking about the new series. As well, the name for the brand will be called Beyblade Metal Fusion in North America, and most international markets.

Also, Yu-Gi-Oh! launched in North America before Beyblade did. And Hasbro supported the Beyblade toyline until 2005, and for brief periods, it was one of, if not their best selling toyline. Btw, it was the first three seasons, movie, and four different product cycles that were released in North America before the brand went on hiatus.

I really hate "children use incredible powers to play a game" anime. Pokemon and Medabots were the only shows that did it right. One is over, and the other went stale a long time ago.

Dude, I loved Medabots. That was something you collected. Not peices of paper, not little tops, robots that killed eachother. Plus, you could swap parts. They had some really awesome toys, too. There were the little collectables, very basic but cool, then there were the larger ones that had the core skeletons and armour.

Never really watched the show, though. I did here Metal Bee's voice and it was kinda cool.

I always enjoyed the Beyblade anime for some inexplicable reason... The fansubs more, I could never get on with the western dubs because of the annoying commentators they put in.

Kinda sad they're going for a new cast, but looks interesting enough.

Dude, I have 3 of those. They were so fucking articulated it was insane! I have Metabee, that white and purple samurai guy with the arm swords and some big, burgandy one that I think had the word "Pheonix" in it's name.

Great. Now I need to get Metabee out, rebuild him and put him on display.

This. Medabots was okay, if not for the horrid animation IMO.

Speaking of Beyblade, my 10-year old nephew had a bunch of those toys for his 4th birthday (it was a KO set)

    That would be Rokusho.

*sigh* Found a bunch of Metabee pieces. His arm guns, his waist armor, his leg panels and feet, even his back panel with the chip still in it. No head, fists, front shoulder guards or skeleton. TT_TT

    Oh, also: :hijacked:

Not everyone understands Japanese. When the series hits North America I'm sure some will watch.

Ah I much enjoyed Medabots. Though if it has robots in it, I'll like it, and if it has a toyline with buildable robot models I'll LOVE it. I have the whole set, Metabee, Sumilidon, Arcbeetle, and Rokusho. I wish some of the other bots had come out in that scale.

The anime was pretty fun too, but I eventually lost track of it in the second series when the network started playing timeslot musical chairs.

Oh yeah...beyblade. Who cares? I only watched it because it tended to end up on the tape with Power Rangers. Which I've also lost track of for the same reason.

The moral of the story. Toy companies if you want your line to survive go beat the crap out of network execs to keep them from screwing with your timeslot. No one will watch your show if they can't find it.
