Hey guys, I know it's been a LONG while since I've posted any new photos of my customs, but as most of you who know me realize I have a ton of things going on.

That being said, aside from Alt Ravage and Alt Rumble (and not getting the smaller Autorooper), I am now "caught up" with my Alt/BT collection with my latest shipment from Captured Prey (who is GREAT to deal with, btw :thumb ) that came in this week. KP Convoy and KP Autorooper (along with MP-5) were my "big" Christmas presents this year.

I don't feel there is any need to start a discussion/debate on the content of the latest incarnation of Takaratomy's side of the Alt/BT line. Regardless, prior to my order, I discussed in FULL everything regarding this line to Lisa (my wife) and my purpose for wanting to purchase the line (i.e. the toys).

I think based on the above one can probably guess where I stand concerning the KP line. Well, right after I opened both Convoy and Autorooper I had a wild and [imo] pretty funny idea. I'll just let the photos [and a little mini comic I threw together] illustrate (and also you'll get to see a current WIP of mine :D ):

Arcee: "Convoy, I brought the young girl with me that I was telling you about. She has been through a lot and has asked for our help and protection."

    Convoy: "'Melissa is it?"

Convoy: " I am Convoy. We are committed to help you and the rest of Earth's inhabitants in any way we can, now matter how . . . irregular the request."

    Melissa: "Th-thank you!"

Convoy: "We are always glad to help, Melissa!"

Nemesis Prime: " . . . but can you help protect her from ME?!

    Melissa: "Aaaaiiiieeee!"

Convoy: "Nemesis Prime! This young girl has been through enough! Arcee and I will protect her at all costs!'

Arcee: "Do not worry, Melissa! We will not let Nemesis or anyone else hurt you!"

Convoy: "Arcee, this fight shall be between Nemesis and me! Take Melissa out of harm's way!"

    Arcee: "Right away!"

Melissa: "Do you think Convoy will be ok?"

Arcee: "Not to worry, Melissa. You are safe now. Convoy can take care of things!"

Melissa: "Thank you for helping protect me."

Arcee: "We will always be glad to help! Goodness will always prevail!"

    Enjoy!

I forgot to mention mine and Lisa's conversation about this particular mod/custom:

"Hey Sweetie, check out what I just made!"

"Wow, that [the whole figure + my addition] actually looks pretty good now!

"Well, at least she has something [covering her undies] on now."

"Yeah, well at least you're making the effort!"

    *couple snickers*

Does the skirt come off, or did you permanently modify the figure?

nice pictures/comic... Plan on keeping it up? Is there more to come?

Looks good, though, it should be stated again, she's not showing her undies the way the figure comes in the package.

Yes, the skirt is removable and is a seperate piece. It just fits between the hips/legs piece and the torso. :)

Thanks! I really appreciate the kind words on the slapped-together comic strip. I just thought I'd have some fun :)

I do have a plans to create a fan fic. For more info, just check this post. :thumb

There are two different options for posing Melissa. One option is her sitting down, the other one is her slightly bending over (much like the box art). Depending on how you turn her she would be. If you want to see, just visit the gallery here. [***Just be warned***]

I just wanted to give the girl some more clothes.

Well, for the whole thread, I tried to make Convoy's parts with Peter Cullen's voice in mind. :lol

Thanks for all of the kind words guys! I hope to have more updates on the way! :D

    Hmmm...

Well, if she was "of age" then I'd say FEWER clothes. Kidding.

Nice touch, looks like it belongs, and I'm talking about the skirt.

    :lol  Such is unintentional . . . I think:dunce

Thanks for the props, T. :thumb

I've shown this custom to some other TF buddies of mine who don't necessarily post here, and a common response has been, "where is the custom?" I think that's one of the greatest compliments I could get :)

Well, honestly the skirt itself is still very short. My initial approach was to give her a denim mini skirt thinking that making a piece of plastic conform to the base would have been easier. That didn't work, and I just kept working with the plastic and this is what I came up with. :)

Just in case anyone is wondering, the skirt was made from a 12" G.I. Joe cap that I found at the flea market in a lot of junk toy parts :)

Regardless of how she's posed, there's no panties, though. Oh, and the official statement is that they ARE of age. Their apparent youth is an effect of the particular anime style they're designed in.:D

It's a bikini. Goes with the whole surfing thing, see? I'm just trying to keep inaccurate assumptions about these toys from spreading is all. There's enough people who will pick up on little stuff like that and propogate it. Too many people already try and claim Melissa is indecent for not wearing pants or something. Which is funny, since girls wear skimpier bikinis than that all the time in this country (and others...)

My custom (and this thread) was intended more as a joke than anything else. Lisa and I had a little bit of fun and a few chuckles with this custom (as have other TFans that have seen this) in light of the whole discussion of the Kiss Players line. I don't find myself propogating too much in the fandom aside from my customs :)

Melissa being officially "of age" means very little to me. I don't ever remember saying that girls not wearing modest dress in public was "ok" with me either. ;)

I love the giant "WARNING! Some pictures in this gallery are NOT suitable for all ages." Oh noes, plastic kid in a swimsuit! My Eyes!

You guys all realize that young girls wear bikinis just like this to the beach whether they're surfing or not, right? Its sexualized but only to the extent you want it to be.

Still a neat custom though :)  I just think its funny how some people (not saying you) make such a big deal out of all this.

edit- looks like i took too much time to type this and someone beat me to it.

Well, honestly, I think the "warning" signs are just an attempt to cover one's back (myself included), at least to some extent.

I think you've said something very noteworthy here. One can find "pornography" in the Sunday newspaper in the retail store ads if one wishes to view them that way. One's perception is a key element (though not necessarily the central element) in something like this. This was one of my primary concerns was a person's perception. When I first approached Lisa about this toy line, I was confident that she wouldn't feel that I was buying Transformers toys to get a little girl PVC. I didn't want her to feel unnecessarily unconfortable with my hobby because of it though. Out of respect for her, it was my suggestion to not keep the boxes on display.

Speaking of one's perception, what might not be a huge deal to one person may be a VERY big deal to another. I think it would be very hypocritical for me to teach one thing about modesty in terms of this issue and then have someone come to my home and be confronted with something very much contrary to that. Again, another person's perception is key here. While I can't control another person's perception, I am able to say/do things that interact with that perception. There is a balance with this concept and that is where I want my life to be. :D

Thanks for the kind words about my work! I really appreciate it! I just thought it would be a funny custom to make, given the circumstances. :dunce
