So I was thinking: wouldn't it have been an amazing treat if, after Optimus blew Megatron's face off in ROTF, they let him be voiced by Frank Welker in DOTM? I mean it wouldn't be that hard to think "oh yeah, his face was blown off in the last movie. I can understand why he has a new voice now." And his original voice kinda sounds like a damaged Hugo Weaving voice anyway.

So, what do you guys think? Would that have been cool or what?

Hmm, Optimus could have damaged his vocal cords in ROTF to make him sound like G1 Megatron....It could work.

I think Hugo is doing a great job. I hope we get to hear more of his voice in DOTM.

hell no, i like Hugo Weaving voicing megatron. he's done a better job than Frank does in G1 or Prime. Weaving makes megatron sound truely evil and merciless. Frank just makes me laugh at megatron

I personaly like frank welker but, I dont see everyone's problem with hugo weaving. I mean this is the movie, this isn't G1.

Agreed, but I just wish he cared about his Megatron role as much a Frank Welker does.

Frank Welker's Megatron voice never, ever did it for me.

Hugo Weaving's voice is very menacing in the movies, and it fits movie Megatron, who comes across as much more of a threatening beast than G1 cartoon Megatron ever did.

Though I do like Welker's voice for Transformers: Prime. It's sort of a balance of G1 and the more menacing movie sound.

I like Weaving voice. He gives Megatron more gravitas onscreen. It fits perfectly with that design also IMO.

    Indeed.

Hugo Weaving is Movie Megatron. Any other voice would be a downgrade.

I don't think that Frank Welkers's Megatron voice works for the movie Megatron. I respect Frank very much but his voice does not work for movie Megatron. Besides he is doing Soundwave, and doing a great job at it I might add.

Hugo's Megatron voice fits movie Megatron. Welker did voice Movie Megatron in the video games for the first movie, and honetly it doesn't work as nicely for me as Hugo's voice does.

Plus, Welker did the Soundwave voice minus the vocoder for ROTF, and he's doing a slightly different G1 Megatron voice for Prime, so I think we're getting plenty of Welker voices as it is.

I think welkers voice if given the same treatment as weaving and cullen would sound a hell of alot better than people think it would. plus he has been getting the reps in for his new megatron in TF prime so it should be better with each successive try.

You got to realize the raspy megatron voice that he did for G1 has to be worked on for a while. Its like if you sing death metal you dont get that raspy scary voice on day one you got to build it over time with yelling and stressing the cords ;)

I bet you if you threw as much low end into his voice as weavings that it would be pretty damn cool.

IF it does sound like i think it would it would be a perfect replacement for the weaving voice given the injury.

Hmm. Optimus damaging Megatron's voice in ROTF would be a good way to explain a change to Welker for the voice. But ONLY if Welker does a more vicious version of his TF: Prime voice. Otherwise, a screechy Welker as Movie Megatron doesn't fit.

But keep Weaving. He did a fantastic and so-much-better job as Megatron in ROTF, and even then he was perfectly brutal and aggressive in the 2007 film.

No need to switch to Welker when Weaving is doing a great job. G1 references are welcome but should not be forced.
