No, that was a misunderstanding. They list 2.5 as 3.
Another point for this particular topic, IF you count the highmoon games one of them also refers to galvatron as an ancient cybertronian who led a cult, same as the covenant of primus
RID Fruit Candy includes Megatron!

Best thing I've ever read.
I doubt some fruit candy is the most reliable source.
If he does appear, I hope he doesn't go back to being evil. They made a point of him giving up being a Decepticon. I could see some drama about him showing up and the Autobots just freaking out over it and not trusting them. Then he stops whatever Decepticon plot is happening, forcing the Autobots (at least some of them) to realize he truly has reformed.
In all fairness, it's more than what we got back in 84-86 where:1) the Autobots flew in Episode 1 and then promptly forgot how; 2) the Constructicons got at least 2 origin stories; 3) characters would change colors, sizes, shapes, and number of hands (looking at you, Shockwave) from episode to episode if not frame to frame; 4) we were asked to believe that the Matrix was a thing after 2 whole years of it never being mentioned, ever.
Let us never forget Hauler! If we forget him, he might disappear again. What about the Reflectors. Everyone knows my pals Spectro, Spyglass, and Viewfinder but those three have a large estranged family with the last name of animation error.
