Okay, all seems to point that his alt mode wasnt inspired in G1, though there is a slight resemblance.

About his alt mode in ROTF, well, another similar came to my mind.

Megatron died and became Galvatron in G1, and Galvatron's alt mode was something like the Cybertronian version of a Howitzer xD...

And Megatron in ROTF was going to be named Galvatron but Orci and Kurtzman dropped the idea to avoid confusion in people not familiar with the Transformers mythology. Megatron's alt mode in ROTF is a Cybertronian tank...seems to me also that there is a slight influence of G1 there.

I always figured he became a tank because more or less they used some brawl parts to rebuild him, in addition to Ze Little One who was also a ground based form.

Galvatron in G1 turned into a stationary gun emplacement (He might have had treads, but it still in no way resembled a tank.)... he didn't turn into a tank until Armada. And that was because he was a repaint of Armada Megatron. Stop stretching the truth in favor of your argument.

No, there isn't. There is no resemblance.

Yes... and that's been noticed since late 2008/early 2009 when ROTF renders were being found.

Yeah, I can see the similarities, especially with the triangular profile.

I don't see it. The Seeker jets are kinda cool imo, with the aero dynamic triangular shapes; while Bayformers Megatron is a clusterfrak of fail.

It seems many didnt like MEgatron's Cybertronian aircraft mode ot tank.

I liked the cybertronian modes, very alien. I liked them very much in fact.

Please share the drugs you have, they seem to be good. Without them I can't see the similarities :(

Cybertronian modes can look alien without also looking like incomprehensible piles of angles. Nearly every Cybertronian mode we saw was a case of 'it's a (insert vehicle name here) just because Hasbro and Bay say so'.
