Couldn't wait for my Masterpiece Megatron to come in and just went ahead and modeled from photos. This concludes my G1 series. Time to model other things now.   It's been fun. Btw, how do I get my stuff into the Gallery section?

you really have to post full body turn arounds of your stuff. Just a close up isn't enough.

 

Thanks. If things free up again I might actually finish up full bodies of Prime and Megatron into an epic battle scene.

 

Very well done. I think it does suffer from the "nobody can do megatron's face right in 3D" but this is pretty close. Good job!

The face was the hardest part. Hopefully when I get my import Masterpiece and Revoltech figures in, I can get some solid 3d reference and revisit the face sculpt.

I still don't know how you make them come so close to the toy versions!

 

I did a little bit of touch up on the face. Hope it's a little closer to the "real" thing. Enjoy.

Very nice. I think you should add a small protruding chin.

 

Maybe just a hint of a lower lip? I know in the cartoon that's all he seemed to have. Maybe just the addition of a slight line under the bottom half of his mouth would take it up a notch.

Thanks! I looked at side-by-sides of the previous version and this one. I am embarassed I posted the previous version now, but if I didn't, I wouldn't have gotten to improve it.
