I want to see an episode where Megatron becomes an unlikely hero. For example: He witnesses Overlord committing obscene war crimes and intervenes on the Autobots' behalf. I do think there is a limit to Megatron's cruelty, a place where even he draws the line. I'd like to see it tested.

    BTW
    <----- That's Young Megatron ;)

As much as I'd like that, it would seem way too out of character for this Megatron. Unless it threatens Earth and its resources, he has no limits.

I agree- he needs to lose his memory for this.

I second this and more. Megs' memories and personality are probably too hardwired into the hardware. We may not even know if a full memory wipe will rid us of this Megs.

I'd rather see a Shattered Glass version.

Megatron destroyed his entire planet and condemned his entire race to extinction, and not even that was enough for him to stop and think "BY PRIMUS! WHAT HAVE I DONE?"
He is rotten to the spark.

if you kind o fthink about, he played the "hero" for s small moment when he helped save the autobots from Unicron. If it wasn;t for Megatron blasting the rock giant of Unicron, the autobots would have been scrapped. That's as close to a hero that he'll ever get. lol

he was also a big hero when he stopped himself from killing optimus while unicron controlled him, though he yelled that it was the fact that know one controlled him, he knew that he couldn't kill OP or unicron would triumph, i mean to force an ancient entity out of your body with sheer will and resist killing your mortal enemy is quite a feat

I want to see humans get butchered. Who cares about being a kids show. Kids have the worst of it.

Megatron is too monstrous to give a damn about any of Overlord's anticts [he comitted, what, a dozen war crimes since the show started?], what you're describing would be the single most hypocrite thing to ever happen in the history of Transformers. Someone like Armada-Megatron [who was actually quite honorable] could work, but Prime-Megs? He's a goddamn lunatic.

Though I would like to see a Megatron with these qualities, who knows where to draw the line, I don't want him in this series.

    Not a chance.

It'll be too out of character at this point if they go for that route

Unless they can figure out a way of doing without going out of character Megatron's not gonna change end of story.

Optimus found that out the hard way.

Not a bad idea, but I don't see it working, concerning Prime-Megatron's nature. Hell, the entire "Even Evil Has Standards" trope doesn't apply to him very well. He's a borderline Complete Monster who destroyed his home world, nearly wiped out his entire species and used their reanimated corpses as soldiers in his army, almost killed an innocent human child just for the lolz, and a plethora of other monstrous crimes. He doesn't feel the slightest hint of remorse for any of the heinous things he's done. Not then, not now, and probably not ever. Any line he would've drawn he's already crossed over millions of times. I don't see him giving a shit about Overlord's agenda unless it interferes with his own plans.

With this version of Megatron? I have to agree with the rest of the posters in this thread and say that it would be extremely out of character. All Megatrons are evil (even Armada was bad, though he did have a strange sense of honor), but this guy is gleefully so.

If there was any point he could have shown a softer side, it would have been when Optimus lost his memory, but what did Megatron do? He took advantage of Optimus's amnesia and planned to murder him when Optimus started figuring things out. That's in addition to setting Cybertron on fire and roasting marshmallows, reanimating the dead, and nearly murdering a child (and gloating about it). That last one literally got an Optimus who pushed "even unrepentant evildoers deserve five million chances" more than any other to beat seven shades of crap out of him and go for the kill. I don't think Megatron will be siding with the angels any time soon.
