I watched a few episodes of the first season. It's not that great...but there are much, much worse shows that still run (Ahem, Tom and Eric, Ahem).

On the topic of TF references or appearances in other cartoons, I was watching an episode of Family Guy last night that I had seen MANY times already. In the episode there is a scene where a fire truck is hunting and eating wild gazelle (or some other hooved beast) and the front end of the fire truck is a SPOT-ON match for G1 Prime, white stripe and all. It's like the cab of G1 Prime was stuck onto RID Prime. I'll see if I can find a screencap somewhere. It's probably been pointed out before but it was new to me.

Don't like the show at all. Hate the character too that's a Superman rip off.

    There's also a Sponge Bob rip-off
    A Zelda Link rip-off (who's gay)
    A Betty Boop rip-off
    A Pikachu rip-off
A princess Mario(?) rip-off (she could be a Disney princess, take your pick)
Not quite sure about the pig, if he's a rip-off of anything. I guess Hamlet from Garfield?

I used to watch the show but I stopped after last season.

"Rip-off" and spoof/parody are not the same thing:

    http://imdb.com/title/tt0386180/trivia

Orson was actually the name of the pig from "Garfield and Friends."

But the character isn't a send-up of Orson. Spanky's a character from an internet cartoon--see the imdb trivia link above.

I watched like the first episode or two when it came on but beyond that it looked pretty bland and boring, still though, any TF reference is interesting to hear about.

Since I watch the show way too much.

Wooldoor Sockbat - a spoof/parody of young kids TV shows. He's also a spoof/parody of Stimpy from the Ren and Stimpy show.

Xandir - a spoof/parody of video game characters with Zelda in particular he even had a princess girlfriend he was always saving before getting out of the closet. Oddly he's less gay in the later seasons than Captain Hero.

Toot - the 1920's cartoon and running commentary on what was considered a normal healthy weight back in the 20's is now considered fat by our current standards. Oh and she plays the part of the bitch that every reality TV show just has to have.

Ling Ling - a spoof/parody of Pokemon right down to be captured in a device by a kid named Gash.

Princess Clara - a spoof/parody of Diney princess' even had an episode where her princess friends showed up.

Spanky Ham - a spoof/parody of internet cartoons and the sort of part his voice actor played on The Man Show.

Captain Hero - a spoof/parody of Superman right down to a really tasteless joke where he feel off a horse to lose his powers.

Foxxy Love - a spoof/parody of the era when cartoons were about musical groups. Also a spoof/parody of negative images that have been used on black cartoon characters.

What's funny is that Comedy Central has been sort of built on rude, crude, offensive, humor and yet they ax this show for being too much of what they wanted :D

The real Optimus made an appearance on Family Guy. Apparently he is Jewish. :)

Soundwave made a cameo on F-Guy as well.

I'm sure they're both posted on the forum somewhere.

Yeah, those were impossible to miss since they transformed into their bot forms and had speaking parts. I just had never before noticed the nod to Optimus with the fire truck.

For someone who watches the show "way too much", you're missing some of the primary parody. The characters themselves are spoofs of animated stereotypes, and they're all pretty much a direct parody of specific animated characters:

    - Wooldoor is a direct spoof of SpongeBob SquarePants.

    - Foxxy Love is a parody of Valerie from "Josie & The Pussycats".

    - Toot is a spoof of Betty Boop, who did not appear in comic form or an animated cartoon until the 1930's.

Also, Captain Hero isn't gay. He's a bi-curious sexual deviant, naturally, since it's such a high-quality animated show.

Beat me to it as well... I just took screencaps. Here's one of Meg's transformation:

In season 1. there was already cameo by a red robot resembling G1 Starscream with a different head.

While DT is sometimes too dirty for my tastes, there are some great scenes too in that show. It's a mixed bag. But I gotta love Captain Hero... if an average kid today was born with Superman's powers, he'd turn out to be 100% like him ... :)

Machine Wars Starscream was in another episode, mentioned by name. All of these references are on some other thread somewhere.

People complaining about a raunchy cartoon on Comedy Central? Um, have you ever heard of a little show called SOUTH PARK?

    Wait, what? Wakko is Barricade?

Actually, that explains so very, VERY much.

Ditto. Drawn Together's nothing more than a shadow of South Park, just like how Carlos Mencia's show was a shadow of Chappelle's Show.

The show is watchable, but nothing great. I think it'd have been better if they would've changed the cast every season to resemble a real reality show.

Um, no. Drawn Together is a spoof on reality shows.

And Carlos Mencia's show doesn't qualify as a shadow of anything.

I haven't seen that show in ages.

But for some reason I like the Princess Clara jokes the best:

"Oh she's a diney princess" then she goes off and says the most un-pc, racist, and shocking things. For some reason that cracks me up.
