So is this guy actually supposed to be Megatron, or one of his incarnations? Like Megaplex or Megastorm?

It's supposed to be Megatron from his later beast machines appearences.

It is the Grand Mal, on little scuttling legs.

Gotcha. I have the green repainted one on a shelf of Megatron/Megatron incarnations and wanted to make sure he actually somehow belonged there! Yessss.

The toy was originally supposed to be based on the Grand Mal but got moved to Robots in Disguise. There he was canonized as a new body for Megatron that could form the head for Fortress Maximus (which apparently it can do if you remove the legs, though I've never tried it myself).

Megabolt, the green repaint that came later, is another character entirely.

Anyone who wants to put it on Fort max be careful with the spider legs...the plastic prone to splitting if you do it too much. But yes it does fit, it just doesn't lock into place.

An old note for sure, but Armada Laserbeak can be a Fort Max head too. A far worse condition IMHO. :lol

While the initial BM Megatron looks totally sucked compared to those magnificent figs of his previous BW incarnations. I was on the fence about this guy, but finally, made up my mind to pass this one.

I love this toy. I placed him on my Brave Max the moment I bought him. I also love how the cannon comes over his robot mode head and makes that mask he wore in the show.
