I know movie theories are a dime a dozen, but I thought of this one, and it could make sense, so bear with me.

We all saw what the All Spark could do as far as mass-shifting. If Megatron is ever brought back to life, do you think the fact that the All Spark was shoved into his chest play a role in giving him a G1-esque mass-shift alt mode?

I know its way to early to speculate on anything, but that would be a really cool way to do what would have been cheesy in the first movie.

    NO MASS-SIZE SHIFTING. PERIOD.

It's bad enough that the Allspark did it...But at least that was destroyed.

    except that it wasn't.

I hadn't thought of applying what the cube did to bots, but I don't personally think it would look that good on film.

Frenzy mass shifted big time into a tiny little phone. Did everyone just miss that part?

It seems like Frenzy's head mass-shifted into a phone...

Frenzy lost his body, so his head just sprouted little legs and scanned Mikaela's cell phone. The only mass-shifting he did was when the AllSpark spontaneously regenerated his original body.

Nah, I don't think Optimus intentionally crushed the remains of the AllSpark. It like he was squeezing the remains of the AllSpark...grieving for its lost...you can see his eye diluting or becoming smaller...like a human squinting his eyes because of sadness or determination.

And yeah, it was just Frenzy's head that transformed into the hp...

Frenzy's head, which was at least 5 times larger than the phone, shrunk down to the size of a flip phone. That, my friends, is the definition of mass shifting. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly. I might need to see it again. Yeah. Again....

Yeah, I agree with you and i do like the concept of mass shifting but its that opponents for it will argue that its just Frenzy's head...know what I mean?

At least to a csual movie goer, Frenzy's so called mass shifting won't seem as obvious or outlandish as a Giant Robot turning into a handgun. 5:1 ratio still seems plausible and some guy can probably come up with an explanation for it. Buto no, I definitely do not want to see mass-shifting in the sequel, at least not on the scale seen so often in G1, it will just be too hard to swallow for non-fans. If Soundwave were to appear, give him a real vehicle mode, like a helicoptor like when Blackout was supposed to be him.

Ah, but remember it is SCIENCE fiction so there should be some logic behind it.

The cube doesn't mass-shift. It's just that its walls are so thin than it can be folded down to a very small size. As simple as that. I guess the same theory could apply to Frenzy.

Frenzy's head turns into a phone? REVERS HEADMASTER!

No mass-shifting please, bad enough Frenzy did it, but he was so tiny, Megs being 32 feet tall and 20 feet wide turning into a gun, bad bad stuff.

Frenzy was not mass shifting. His head is just mostly empty space with thin panels criscrossing. It only looks like a solid piece when it's the animatronic.

When the nokia gets the allspark treatment, it expands a fair bit too.

The allspark, however, THAT was mass shifting. And don't tell me they were just thin panels collapsing. That would make it weigh thousands of tonnes, and it would probably be dense enough to have a gravitational field.

It's prolly closer to fantasy, honestly. I mean, many transformers have superpowers that would require star-trek-level pseudo-science to justify, like Skywarp's teleporting ability or Megatron's black-hole-link ability.

Also, as Arthur C. Clarke wisely pointed out, "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".

But, if you insist on some scientific backdrop, fair enough. My take:

The Allspark exists in multiple universes simultaneously; it's like a gate between bubbles in the "foam" of universes. Spark energy is energy transferred to our universe from another universe, which is why they allow for localized violations of our universal laws (such as mass-shifting, and the idea of living robots in the first place). When the Allspark "shrinks", it's really just transferring mass from our universe to another universe.
Still doesn't answer the question of who made it and where it came from, which is fine by me; keeps up the mystery of the story.
