Yeah I typed it. I feel Starscream should've been leader. Come on... an oversized Targetmaster as leader?  Don't get me wrong, I love that evil Son.Ova.Bot, but most of the time Starscream was firing Megatron anyway. A fellow collector and I were conversing about this one day. Tell me what your opinions are.

Targetmasters are powerful weapons. An over-sized Targetmaster is the ultimate weapon. Add to that evil without bounds and you get Megatron, a being uniquely suited to keeping the most vile collection of lifeforms ever assembled in check. He was only surpassed in destructive capacity by himself in the form of Galvatron.

Do you think, maybe, the idea for Targetmasters came as an homage to Megatron? Obviously Megatron isn't a Targetmaster since there is no giant sized human inside, even though giant sized humans did exist in the universe, especially in the comics.

No no no. I like Starscream so much more as second in command. It's the same with Cobra Commander. I liked him way more as Serpentor's second in command. I don't know. Just a personal preference I guess. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though.

Megatron was a Targetmaster before Targetmasters were Targetmasters.

Neat thought, though; I never noticed that.

I've never liked the idea of Megaton as a gun. It seems stupid to turn into something that can be easily destroyed in the wrong hands like Starscream. Atleast Galvatron you can pretend he's a canon tank.

Other kinds of *masters. If you go by the comic, Zarak was 'Con leader, and G1 ended with Prime remade from Hi-Q. :)

Well, not really. He isn't binary bonded to anyone and isn't a Nebulan. Plus if he's oversized wouldn't that sorta disqualify him from Targetmaster status?

That's like saying Grand Mal Megatron is an oversized Headmaster.

    that's a lie. :lol

i understand your point. it gives them something to hunger for. but think of this. if roles were reversed w/Meg and S.scream, would Meg always be trying to be leader?

Megatron "I've had enough of being your weapon Starscream. One day I will be leader!"
Starscream "Over my disintegrated diodes you will, Megatron."

    Yup. That's a mindbender huh?

    yes he did.

yeah, no one had to hold Galvatron. It would've been cool to see Megatrons alt mode implemented more. Maybe something like infiltrating the military to convert their vehicles into more characters or something.

When Megatron attacked Destro's fortress in the Marvel GI Joe book, just before the G2 comic launched, he was still in his G1 form. He pulled a Shockwave: transformed into his gun mode without shrinking and blasted giant holes in the place while hovering in midair. I wish he had done more of that when he had that gun mode, I always liked that.

Technically, no one "HAD" to hold Megatron.

He was capable of firing himself in gun moder.

yeah, exactly my thought. he was a Unicronian tripod cannon. so he was upgraded when turned into Galvatron.

for everyone reading. i'll be a little more specific. G1: Season 1&2 Megatron was a target master. just referring to alt mode
