Ya know, I actually REALLY liked the way DOTM ended. Maybe it's just me, but I loved the shocked, staring expression on Megs face (what was left of it) after Optimus ripped his spine out. I say fuck Megatron. Bring in Jihaxus, or Straxus, or hell, Liege Maximo. Leave Megatron dead and buried
I don't think Megatron would be a good idea to bring back. Even though, he is probably my favorite movie character, he's already been killed and brought back. You can't really do that twice
leave him be dead and use Galvatron. Galvatron does not always have to be a reformated/overpowerd/upgraded version of Megatron. He can be a own character...
Thats what I said. Megs has already died twice, so lets make Galvatron his own character. It makes alot of sense
Yes, this makes mucho sense. Decepticon lords start fighting and competing for power. One decides that killing the legendary Optimus Prime will win him the power and respect to lead the wider Decepticon cause. Actually, there's a getout in that he died by the Allspark, and was reborn by the Allspark, he's saturated with Allspark energy. Of all the Transformers, he could be reborn with the right trigger, and a lot of rebuilding. But yes, it's been done, it'd stretch belief too much to restore him a second time. Far better perhaps to have a new Transformer take up the name of Megatron and claim to be him, than resurrect him once again.
I'm saying Galvatron, by way of one crazy little leftover head (Igor) rebuilding his body with old Megatron parts
Since everyone's talking about Galvatron being a separate character, why not have this: When 'Bee tackled the activation pillar in DOTM, the section of Cybertron that was in Earth's atmosphere imploded on itself, right? Well, since the 'Cons probably know where it was sent, why not have a rogue group of 'em go to the coordinates that the portion of Cybertron was sent to? The beginning of this movie shows Cybertron with the giant chunk now missing, then zoom in and some 'Cons tinkering on a electronic version of the galaxy, then they find where the section was last at, and we have the introduction of Galvatron (voiced by none other than Frank Welker ) who commands this band of 'Cons to board the ships and to scout out this area. It then shows them arriving, and Blitzwing (Galvatron's second in command) walking to the window of the ship and asking "what is that?" or something, and it pans out, showing Earth, with Galvatron's voice over saying "That, Blitzwing, is Earth, home of Optimus Prime's pathetic Autobots... But it will soon be mine!" ---------------------- I don't know why, but i decided to start typing and it turned into this mess..... take it for what you will, I'll try and sand off the edges on this bad boy, lol
I'd totally be on board with this. Its a great starting point. TF is full of so many great characters. And not all of them have even been used to their full potential in cartoons and comics so the movies have a lot to pull from.
I think to freshen it up, we really need a very strong return of the decepticons a la 'the empire strikes back', where a strong decepticon leader emerges and catches the autobots and humans napping - one where, in the end, it actually finishes with the decepticons on top. That would really set it all up nicely for another couple of films! I actually would quite like Megatron to return as Galvatron to redeem his decline from Tf1 to Tf3. I do, however, agree that he needs to be tangibly different - perhaps reborn from Megatrons essence retaining his memories, but a darker, more menacing version, made from completely new parts. To emphasise that it's not just Megatron resurrected like in TF2, it would be good to have a different actor voicing him, to really give him a new feel.
I would love to see megatron return, but not has galvatron. For me hugo is the best voice for megatron and that should never change, he can easily be brought back to life. But I disagree that megatron was a joke, I always say this, in DOTM even though it was from behind he really did do a number on sentinal prime, and he did show everyone what he is capable of. But bay and co decided the concept of megatron getting weaker from each film, but from each film he was crucial to the plot. In the end move megatron I do rate him an 8/10
Ok, maybe a new voice actor isn't necessary, but he definitely needs to be different enough to make it more credible for him to come back stronger and darker. Perhaps digitise the voice differently? I agree he was still quite cunning to set up the whole dotm deception strategy, so as an orchestrator on the sidelines he was good, but he had lost that menecing physical presence that is key to his character.
THIS ^^^^ But Here is a question for anyone to answer... In both the book and the movie it talks about and shows Igor as a living head of what used to be a longhaul type bot. How is it that this head can still live after being detached from his body but Megs is officially dead just because his head was ripped off?
Well it was kind of crushed and destroyed more than a simple decapitation with components still intact.
He will be Galvatron. My guess is the space bridge may not have transported all of Cybertron but it did get a moon aka Unicron.
There might not be a 4th film Shia won't be coming back for a 4th movie, Michael bay might not return??
If he comes back as Galvatron, then I'm all for it. They should have him remade by Unicron, as seen in the 80's film. I'd pay to see that.
IF there is a 4th or at least a film that sort of carries on from the storyline set in DotM, Megatron needs to be rebooted in such a dark and menacing way. He doesn't need to be seen fully for the first half of a new film, just hints given out that he's back and means business. No messing about this time round, no more skulking in an alley with a bottle of JD.
If you take the end battle in RotF as an example, what we got was Megatron chasing after Sam through the ruins, and the US Tanks, Planes and soldiers shooting him and forcing him back. What we'd should have seen was Megatron casually walking after them, shell's bouncing off him and picking off each tank one-by-one with his cannon before being faced down by the recently revived Optimus. A Megatron that wasn't fazed and one not ready to retreat or backdown - leading from the front and actually being a threat to the good guys; not just as some glorified cannon fodder.
