Too late about that. Jeff Bennett is the New Blanc with over 1650 credits

    Hugo Weaving ;)

No, just kidding. He's too rich and famous. But how about Tim Storms?

If this ever happened than Corey Burton should take over the role.

Yeah this reminds me of when Mel Blanc passed away. A small army of voice actors was required to replace all his characters.

I think Corey Burton would do an admirable job. His talent for impression is amazing. (He imitated Paul Frees' voice on a number of Disney park rides and you can't tell the difference)

I would say give the role back to Burton or Kaye but as to which one would depend on what kind of Megatron is being portrayed at the time. If its a power hungry all guns blazing type style Megatron, give it to Burton. If its a cold, calculating, charasmatic style Megatron, give it to Kaye.

Going on a tangent, but I admit, I am curious to hear what Kaye's take on a screw loose ala G1 Galvatron would sound like.

I prefer Kaye's voice as Beast Wars Megatron, not necessarily Megatron proper. I think Corey Burton's Animated Megatron voice is menacing enough to be a decent replacement, but since he and Welker are contemporaries, they would probably retire around the same time in real life.

My runner up is about the only good thing to come out of the Combiner Wars cartoon, the person who voiced him there, Jason Marnocha.

Kaye or Burton would be fine. Kaye's BW Megs has a smooth voice with lots of evil charm. Burton's TFA Megs has bone chilling menace for a kids cartoon. Powerful and evil. Welker's was good for the ones he played, but it is a little too raspy. Give me BW Megatron any day of the week.. yeeessss.

If you want to go that road, Tobin Bell (Savitar) would be a great choice as well or even David Sobolov. I'd pick Tobin Bell first IMO

Oh, that's why he sounds so old. I will never criticize his current portrayal of Optimus Prime again.

I'd like to see Corey Burton take over if Frank ever retires.

Where exactly did you get that number? IMDB lists him as having 470 credits in acting, while Welker has 792.
