I like the fan repaint. Why did they opt for that blue in the original :(

Looks rinky-dink compared to the gunmetal look.

Man, if you can make that type of money repainting Megatron, I might have a shot at it.

Rather monochromatic, though. Megatron is supposed to be various shades of metal, with gold highlights and other colours for detailing.

Yeah.. this provide the different felt to Megatron indeed. For me, I like both.

Of course you have to factor in paint supply costs and the time it takes to complete such a project which, in the end, may not be worth all the trouble. Unless of course you already have experience in repainting figures.

Ah yes, that is true. The gold in the film version is a much needed touch to make Megatron's design at least tolerable in my eyes.

It looks like it would be easy enough, you wouldn't even really have to take him apart, just paint him whole..Cover the red etc, but, hmm, might be worth trying..

Nice Avatar, Sami! I've thought about getting one of those helmets just to irritate my producer during meetings.....he's got some phobia about people in costumes.

Might just have to pick one up *evil grin*

Pretty sure I'd pay $40 for the one on the left!

Shouldn't this go in the Ebay or Kitbash forums?

I have seen even better re-paints in our own kitbash forums.

You ain't been to the kitbash forum much, I take it. :D  Yeah, I do this stuff pretty regularly; I don't see it as much of a problem project. The end result is awfully effective though, and, based on the processes that I think were used in giving this guy the look he deserves, I can't see this being too difficult to reproduce.
